Incredible to think that the Emily Howard sketch was only 10 years ago, in fact still going in 2011. How the hell has it changed so quickly?

Only watched this film at some point this year and loved every minute of it. I loved this scene in particular because of the way things are today, it’s crazy to think that in just a few years our language has been changed and saying only those born female are women and girls and not those born men is wrong now.

Before you sanctify the Pythons, remember Mandy's explanation of his conception to Brian:

• Well, at first, yeah.

I think about that scene a lot on the context of what's going on now. I always say you can learn everything about life fron two films: Life of Brian and This is Spinal Tap.

But she's responding to Brian's naive assumption that his mother would be at consent to random sex with a centurian there. That's a joke about him being so unworldly. Not a joke about rape.
