it has been used for other purposes as well; in Indonesia, for instance, the test is used to determine female applicants’ suitability for the police force.

This is so abusive

Absolutely abusive.

No medic should collude in such a barbaric practice.

Since the test has no scientific validity whatsoever I'd suggest any medic asked to take part in this replaces it with a simple alternative: ask the woman with the controlling relatives what she would like to have recorded on the paperwork. Every bit as accurate and with no adverse consequences for the patient.

It is awful

What’s this with controlling women and sex

I bet guys never get asked this or have to go for these tests

Control control control. As ever

you mean virginity tests for women, right?
I still vividly remember being given a virginity test at the age of 6. I grew up in the UK.

Inebriati please accept my apologies that anyone could do this to you.

That's awful, Inebriati

The British state has also carried out virginity tests in the past. In the 1970s, women from India and Pakistan who travelled here to marry their fiances were given virginity tests at immigration.
