The New Merperson Emoji is Wearing a Breast Binder

The new “gender neutral” merperson emoji that arrived with Apple’s iOS13.2 is wearing a breast binder.

Is the rejection and suppression of the biological female body really something that needed representation?

No of course it isn’t!

I wonder why the twitter emojipedia used the breast binder term , when the emojipedia.org site just said "covered torso"

Do you think it maybe was deliberate to get people outraged?
I'm not saying it was but it makes you wonder. How do you find out who creates the emojis? Be interesting to find that out and see what they say.

@AngusThermopyle yes I may do some further investigation. Interestingly enough I thought it did say binder... I’ll have a look through my screen shots when I get to my laptop later.

I do think however it’s important not to fall into the trap of denying what is plain to see . It DOES look like a breast binder and it’s being embraced by trans society as a breast binder.

I’ve not update new ios12 because of problems but can anyone tell me if there are now ANY Disability symbols? For Billions people world wide with Disability still waiting for any emoji. Yet again beaten by tiny tiny of and let’s admit “new” gender/non gender conforming New Sex/gendered/none people.

Yes @akire there are wheelchairs, canes and prosthetic limbs.
