www.jccf.ca/school-sued-for-telling-six-year-old-girl-that-girls-are-not-real/

"OTTAWA: The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (www.jccf.ca) is representing a young girl (“NB”) and her mother in an application before the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal against the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, the child’s former teacher and the principal of the school. The family brought the claim for discrimination on the basis of gender identity, for teaching NB and her class there are no such things as girls or boys. NB identifies strongly as a girl.

The amended application includes a claim for discrimination on the basis of sex, and notes the child’s rights to security of the person and equality under sections 7 and 15(1) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms have also been infringed.

This case has attracted considerable attention in the media, notably in columns by Barbara Kay (here and here), and by University of Toronto Psychology Professor Jordan Peterson."

"“If everyone has a gender identity, and gender identities are protected under the Code, then NB’s gender identity as a girl should be protected,” said Justice Centre staff lawyer Lisa Bildy. “If the School Board can accommodate the inclusion of trans and other gender identities into the classroom setting, then surely they can accommodate the inclusion of children who experience no discord between their biology and their sense of self.”

Some gender theorists and activists now argue not only that “gender identity” is on a spectrum, but that sex is also on a spectrum, meaning that there are no longer distinct categories of male and female. Among other things, the family is asking the Tribunal to award a remedy that the school board stop “teaching gender theory in any manner which suggests that sex categories of male and female do not exist, or are fluid, or exist on a spectrum.”

“To teach otherwise cannot be anything but discrimination on the basis of sex, which is a protected ground,” said Ms. Bildy. “If we cannot describe the physical reality of biological sex, then women can no longer defend their human rights as women.”"

Interesting! Is this a case of gender identity literally eating itself?

ErrolTheDragon · 05/11/2019 01:20

It sounds farcical, but if you read the link, at the centre of it is a little girl who's had her head messed with by this antiscientific gender dogma.SadAngry

theflushedzebra · 05/11/2019 01:29

That is completely crap, Errol. I am so totally distressed at what this gender identity will be teaching our children.

OccasionalKite · 05/11/2019 01:30

Gender ideology comes back to bite gender ideologists on their arse?!

theflushedzebra · 05/11/2019 01:31

meant to say what this "gender identity crap" or ideology - is teaching to our children. It's in our UK schools now - they're trying to indoctrinate children at a young, young age - and t seems parents are increasingly not able to object to these lessons. Sad

Creepster · 05/11/2019 01:47

It is past time parents pushed back on schools teaching children they were born in the wrong body if they play with certain toys and that there is no such thing as girls and boys.
I am glad they are pursuing this. It is hard to say how many children have had their sense of self violated by the advocates of gender beliefs.

NotBadConsidering · 05/11/2019 03:15

On another occasion, JB [the teacher] drew a gender spectrum on the board and asked each student to identify where they fit on the spectrum. NB indicated that she was on the furthest end of the spectrum marked “girl.” JB then told the class that “girls are not real, and boys are not real.” This was extremely upsetting to NB.

I’ve spent a while trying to formulate an erudite response to this but all I can come up with is WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK.

I may be able to word better something with time...

So much hypocrisy from this movement. You can identify as whatever you like, unless that doesn't suit the narrative, then you have to identify as you're told and are privileged for it.
Poor child.

SarahTancredi · 05/11/2019 07:00

Poor kids. What utter nonsense. If girls arent real then who is it they have the san pro stash for in the medical room. Which kids will they be keeping an eye on for being at risk of being sent off to marry in the holidays ?

They can just bin the book now cant they. What a lovely school to have no.worries about what may happen to.the pupils Hmm

Lamahaha · 05/11/2019 07:01

It's quite obvious what is going on. It's long term planning: get them while they're young, indoctrinate them with the faith. When this kid generation is adult they will all ALLbe believers, on "the right side of history".
All the while deliberately creating that history.
If this works, in 20 years time we who uphold the reality of binary sex will be truly obsolete.
We cannot let this happen.
This case could debunk it all. Let's hope.

are the court trolling by refering to her as NB?

SnuggyBuggy · 05/11/2019 07:27

Really odd, I wo der how historians will look back at this time period

MIdgebabe · 05/11/2019 07:29

How do they do sex education?

GCAcademic · 05/11/2019 07:46

A country that has a problem with the trafficking of female children from Quebec and an epidemic of rape and murder of indigenous girls and women doesn’t believe that girls exist? Well, it would certainly suit the authorities to push that line of thinking, wouldn’t it? So progressive.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 05/11/2019 07:49

I can’t believe that they are getting it o all this with such small children - and teachers are pushing and agenda with such zeal. Hope they get sued - and it opens the floodgates to other parents with complaints.

I would have been that poor little girl.

happydappy2 · 05/11/2019 07:56

"If we cannot describe the physical reality of biological sex, then women can no longer defend their human rights as women.”

Very true!

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 05/11/2019 08:15

Bloody hell - how do they teach about mammals when they get to that point? How do you tell your dog's gender? And how do farmers / dog breeders know which animals to put together to reproduce?

It's really just like teaching children the earth is flat or that there is no such thing as evolution.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 05/11/2019 08:19

Well I suppose there are schools that won’t teach evolution...

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 05/11/2019 08:39

I sincerely hope the girl's family win their case and open the floodgates to many more such suits.

This is interfering with normal child development and preventing children from developing a healthy understanding of themselves and their place in the world.

Those pushing this religion are utterly foul.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 05/11/2019 08:40

Parents scream bloody blue murder if their kids are taught religion! But this seems to have a free pass.

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 05/11/2019 08:47

I am one of those parents Fekko. I spent 16 years of my life arguing against schools pushing religious observance on my children. It is a subject dear to my heart as an atheist living in a country that takes five year old children and divvies them up along sectarian lines.

My objection to trans ideology comes primarily from my atheism. I cannot for the life of me understand people who would be horrified at a school pushing intelligent design who then turn around and push the even less supported, utterly nonsensical, unsupported by any evidence whatsoever claptrap that people can 'choose' whether they are men or women.

A religious person cannot prove their god exists, but ultimately I can't disprove it either.

A trans ideologist cannot prove they are a woman when they are XY or a man when they are XX. I can prove, in numerous ways, that all XY trans people are men and all XX trans people are women.

It is far more egregious to push trans ideology on children than other religions.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 05/11/2019 08:55

I was brought up in Glasgow - so have always had little patience for religious schools. Religion at school never bothered me (atheist dad) and it has never really had an impact on DS (school is quite church-attached) and he has been questioning religions since he was about 5. I worked for the church - my boss was brilliant and we got on really well.

We are lucky to live in a country where you aren’t persecuted or executed for your faith or lack of it.

But this whole ‘girls don’t exist’ banana-cake-nonsense is just crazy. You can be visited by police! Have a hate crime recorded against you! Be screamed at in the street and thumped - then have to say ‘sorry miss’ in court!

The sun circles earth! The earth is flat! The moon is green cheese! God’s in his heaven and all’s right with the world!

Michelleoftheresistance · 05/11/2019 19:46

Historians will probably compare this period a lot to Henry VIII's attempt to rearrange reality, enforce new religious beliefs, eradicate centuries of previous religious belief and compel speech to enable him to divorce and be psychopathic unhindered by the Pope. Backed up by a useful bunch of extremists. Frequent use of the death penalty ensued. It still didn't work. The country nearly collapsed several times before a balance was found of 'believe and do whatever you want without enforcing it on others'.
