Headline: Your no BS guide to the Gender Recognition Act reforms
Cutting through the misinformation you've probably seen on social media.

Thankyou TimeLady. I wondered what people thought? Its definitely channelling current wokeness. I'm not as articulate as many on here but I'm really fearing its a losing battle and that my daughters are entering a Brave New World where we are going backwards in terms of women's rights.

There's another thread on this here

Ah silly me. I must admit that title wouldn't have made me realise it was a cosmo article.

I will just allow this thread to quietly disappear Blush

Cosmo is proper woke now.
So sad, considering how it started out. I remember reading the article that launched the idea that cervical cancer was a virus. Groundbreaking at the time.
Now the sex articles are confusing because they are tripping over themselves.

UrsulaPandress · 03/11/2019 07:54

I didn’t realise Cosmo was still going.

It was bloody fabulous back in the day.

littlecabbage · 03/11/2019 07:58

I can't get the link to work unfortunately (not even TimeLady's) but I looked up the author on twitter, and she looks very young.

I suspect she'll see how misled she is in 20 year's time, after she has been passed over for promotion, experienced sexual harrassment, and possibly been in the vulnerable states of pregnancy, childbirth and new motherhood.

Having said that, so many articles here recently have given me hope that the tide is turning - the huge backlash against M&S, the beginnings of court cases against doctors who are transing children, etc, that I genuinely believe this crazy ideology will burn itself out in the next couple of years.

Come on it’s Cosmo!

I remember picking up a copy in a hotel in 1986 (yes I remember when) And flicking through it- and thinking it was a load of anti-woman crap. All about how to please yer man and how to look pwetty.

Babdoc · 03/11/2019 10:08

Way back in 1972 Cosmo published a centrefold of Burt Reynolds in the nude, and ran articles on helping women to achieve orgasm. It wasn’t exactly feminist but it was trying its best.
Obviously a steep downward trajectory since then. Are any modern women’s mags actually supporting women any more? Or are they all jostling for woke cookies?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 03/11/2019 10:30

I assume a quick look at the editorial flanked panel will give an indication (also who owns the mag/publishers).

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 03/11/2019 10:30

Flannel not flanked. Autocorrect 🙄
