AfterSchoolWorry · 01/11/2019 22:31

Yay 🙌

ChattyLion · 01/11/2019 22:33

It was suggested Ms Challenor had been given the role of ‘diversity officer’ for Coventry Liberal Democrats in an informal capacity, rather than a formal one.

Hmm That sounds like backing away

APerkyPumpkin · 01/11/2019 22:35

Did someone say 'election'?

StrangeLookingParasite · 01/11/2019 22:37

Jesus wept, just how inappropriate do you have to be before you get dropped like a stone?

OhHolyJesus · 01/11/2019 22:46

If your Twitter account is hacked would there be a record of that?

Genuine question, I'm not on Twitter.

(As a IT person you would know how to trace that wouldn't you?)

donquixotedelamancha · 01/11/2019 22:51

Anyone else pleasently surprised how clear that Coventry observer article is and that they seem to have been investigating Aimee? Lovely to see local journalism working as it should.

The pervy bf was hacked?!
Yeah, sure Jan.

Hackers don't sit around arguing the toss.

JoyceJeffries · 01/11/2019 23:17

The sad thing is that no one is at all surprised. Entirely predictable.

NotBadConsidering · 02/11/2019 02:46

Given that the investigation previously stated how concerning it was that Challenor still had no concept of safeguarding even after it was pointed out to Challenor, it should come as a shock to no one that Challenor has continued to disregard safeguarding in Challenor’s new position.

There should now be an investigation into those who employed or hired Challenor into a role requiring safeguarding despite it being public knowledge that Challenor has no concept of safeguarding. That in itself is a lack of safeguarding.

TimeLady · 02/11/2019 06:47

Well, who'd have thunk it?

(said no-one)

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 02/11/2019 06:49

Eh, I'm sure Aimee will be reinstated as soon as the LibDems think nobody will notice.

Interesting pattern with the "hacking", wasn't that Madigan's claim too?

TemporaryPermanent · 02/11/2019 08:40

I know AC is an adult but I do feel for them. When i think about what their upbringing was like i can't begin to process it. On the most cursory reading they were exhibiting huge distress from an early age.

I really hope they just find a job, without a public profile or working with children, preferably one with a good boss. But I can imagine that 'normal' stability would be very hard for them to tolerate.

RedToothBrush · 02/11/2019 08:59

About fucking time.

Challenor was always going to get into another investigation.

Whether it comes to anything I don't know, but Challenor is not someone who is going to just get on with party business without problems arising.

OvaHere · 02/11/2019 09:24

Unbelievable that the LD's didn't shut down AC's involvement in the party from the start. All the info about what happened with the Greens was public knowledge.

MockersthefeMANist · 02/11/2019 09:31

Never heard of the Coventry Observer. Sounds like an advertising free-sheet.

The local paper is the Evening Telegraph. Can't find anything on their site.

Daysofpearlyspencer · 02/11/2019 09:42

I wonder if any of this will affect AC from getting a visa or maybe AC is going for the 90 day fiance visa

MollyButton · 02/11/2019 09:44

AC was making noises about campaigning for Labour last I heard.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 02/11/2019 09:44

Is Aimee (repeatedly) employed as a diversity hire/for woke points?

Cos how else can it be explained??

OhHolyJesus · 02/11/2019 09:57

AC retweeted Labours tweets but has been with the LDs until now, Molly, Labour could be next but after the holiday/wedding AC has suggested a possible move to the US.

AC seems to switch political allegiance pretty easily, anyone will do, Women's Equality Party next maybe?

Unnnndeadcake · 02/11/2019 09:57

If the Liberal Democrats had done due diligence from the start they would not be in this embarrassing situation now.

donquixotedelamancha · 02/11/2019 10:02

Never heard of the Coventry Observer. Sounds like an advertising free-sheet.

No clue how big it is, but my guess is quite small. Website says it's part of several local papers in the region, all with print editions.

Could well be a free sheet, though it's a damn sight more professional than the ones near me- advertising content clearly delineated, a couple of glossy advertising supplements, quite a lot of content, the couple of articles I read are better written than some of the churn found in nationals.

Can't find anything on their site.

Given how horrific the Challenor case was and given Aimee's continued political connections, I'm constantly astounded it did not get more attention.

HandsOffMyRights · 02/11/2019 10:17

I would like to see the Coventey Evening Telegraph pick this up and its webiste Coventry Live.

It is part of Reach PLC which owns The Mirrir/Express/Daily Star and stories that appear on Coventry Live are often picked up by the nationals in that group.

Keep shining the light.

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 02/11/2019 10:26

If the Liberal Democrats had done due diligence from the start they would not be in this embarrassing situation now.

They didn't need to do any due diligence, they were specifically told, numerous times by numerous people, with clear evidence as to Challenor's behaviour and inability to understand basic safe guarding rules, that Challenor was not an appropriate person to be involved in their party on any level.

They knew. They chose to ignore.
