No attempt at all to present a balanced view, is this what passes for journalism now?

Cambridge News is full of absolute shite at the best of times.

BlooperReel · 01/11/2019 19:36

I am not a regular reader, but stumbled across this and it honestly reads like a TRA propoganda piece

it honestly reads like a TRA propoganda piece

Because it is, like most media is.

AnotherEmma · 01/11/2019 19:39

They've just copied and pasted the press release.
No attempt to get a comment from any Cambridge-based gender critical feminists!

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 01/11/2019 19:40

Safety risks associated with TERFS? WTAFingF?!!!

I'm confident the next time first time a trans woman is violently attacked it won't be by a TERF but rather a man.

This TERF is getting sick of these TWATS.

AnotherEmma · 01/11/2019 19:48

I doubt the article will be read by many people. Cambridge News has been focused on BoJo's visit to Addenbrooke's (UGH) and Halloween. Plus the usual tabloid-style articles.

They haven't shared it on their Facebook page which is a shame as I'm sure it would get some entertaining comments Grin

Honestly I wouldn't get too outraged about this, Cambridge News is a ridiculous excuse for a newspaper.

TemporaryPermanent · 01/11/2019 20:54

Depressed at the death of local newspapers but guess what, I'm on MN this evening instead of reading the local paper.

That's not journalism, it's not a press release, it's not an essay, it's not a leader or a column. It's not anything. It reads like a few tweets stitched together. I know journalism is dying but there are books out there that will teach you to write better than that. Would you not want to do better than that?

Bimbleberries · 01/11/2019 20:59

You think that article is bad, try this one:
www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/cambridge-news/asexual-awareness-lgbt-myth-busting-17160264

The site is generally awful - useless journalism, lack of rational thinking, very poor grammar, etc. Their twitter feed is equally awful.

ErrolTheDragon · 01/11/2019 21:45

The only possible explanation is there's some sort of cosmic balance and this 'newspaper' is responsible for counteracting all the clever scientists etc thereabouts who understand gravity, biology etc.

Voice0fReason · 01/11/2019 22:21

I just can't read it. I tried, it's utter tripe.

TheBullshitGoesOn · 01/11/2019 22:25

Bimble I've just read that asexual thing. I say 'read', but before I was half way through my life had leached out of my body and shrivelled up.

What claptrap. How are asexual people marginalised? What a load of desperate to be special bollox.

TemporaryPermanent · 02/11/2019 01:03

Oh GOD. That asexual thing.

YOU'RE the one obsessed with a binary of being asexual or sexual. If you didn't come out with this utter shit, people would be uninterested in your genitals, sex life and/or lack of it. They would no doubt think you are female but that's because you are, and if they didn't inform you they think you're female, nobody needs to worry about it, do they? How about letting go of navel gazing and asking them about their lives instead?

Coyoacan · 02/11/2019 04:10

The asexual thing, what. She announces that she is asexual, why would you feel the need to do that?, then complains that people are surprised at her sex life and calls that intrusive. Scratches head

Weathergirl1 · 02/11/2019 04:35

Yep, can confirm that pretty much everything on that website is utter utter shite, and that's if you can get round all the pop up ads that it's littered with. They like to put out click bait articles and headlines ("crash blocks major Cambridgeshire road" - no reference to the road involved until you click on the actual article...) to bring in viewers for advertising content.

I get the impression that most people visiting the site go there to argue with each other in the comments sections...

AnotherEmma · 02/11/2019 07:50

^YY to all that

SpamChaudFroid · 02/11/2019 08:23

Xir?

Fraggling · 23/11/2019 11:44

'Cisgender- someone whose gender does match their biologically determined sex at birth.'

Pinky pink sparkle prosecco, maths is hard!

Women are so cute and pretty and fluffy and sexy with their little pea brains bless.

SayNotoArtificialLipids · 24/11/2019 10:14

From the article above it states that Jessica is a gender identity trainer so pink, sparkly= girl is probably in the manual.
