I'm still waiting for a response. Not sure on age but definitely under 18s.

Clymene · 30/01/2020 14:56

It's worse than that. They have a range of Express treatments which can be enjoyed by 11 year olds if they're with an adult apparently

LangClegsOpinionIsNoted · 30/01/2020 14:58

What is the minimum age in the Spa?
The minimum age for access to the Spa is 14 years but any guest under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Spa Day guests must be 18 years or over to make a booking and Spa Break guests must be 21 years or over to make a booking. However, we do have a range of Express treatments that can be enjoyed from 11 years of age, when accompanied by an adult over 18 years of age.

From the FAQs section on their website.

Indecent exposure, but in a woke way.

Jaxhog · 30/01/2020 15:01

Centre Parks have come to a sensible conclusion in terms of balancing trans right' with women and children's safety. If only everyone else would do the same.

Xanthangum · 30/01/2020 15:01

Indecent exposure, but in a woke way.

Decent exposure?

R0wantrees · 30/01/2020 15:13

So an 18 year old+ male who identifies themself to Centre Parcs as a woman could bring an 11 yr old girl into the Spa for treatments together?
Shock

ThinEndoftheWedge · 30/01/2020 15:29

Public Indecency. “Public indecency” generally refers to acts involving nudity or sexual activity in view of the public, often with the intent to shock, offend, or arouse.

Legal definition of Public Place - Any highway and any premises or places to which the public, at the material time, have or are allowed to have access is considered a public place.

What is it that centre parks don’t get???!! They have a responsibility here They have female/male/neutral changing rooms. Clearly being undressed in proximity to undressed girls and women is required for validation (or worse)

EverardDigby · 30/01/2020 15:35

When I went with 15 yo DD I'm pretty sure that I had to sit in whilst she had her treatment. It was quite relaxing, I guess because of mirror neurons in my brain. We showered separately though so she was in the changing room without me by her side.

I don't see how having male bodies in the women's changing room balances my needs as a survivor of adult and child domestic and sexual violence, but there we go, I won't be giving them any more of our money.

Mossyrock · 30/01/2020 15:38

Really? How does this benefit the safety of women and girls?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 30/01/2020 15:46

I think some people are just reading the OP, and not reading the whole thread.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 30/01/2020 15:50

There is nothing balanced about forcing teenaged girls to accept male adults in spaces where either party will be naked, but I suspect that PP had assumed that CenterParcs had stuck to their initial, more sensible decision rather than caving in the moment pressure was applied.

If they are indeed going ahead with the let any adult man with a gender identity into the women's changing rooms plans they better have excellent lawyers, because getting sued will be a when rather than an if.

RuffleCrow · 30/01/2020 15:51

Glad i didn't book that holiday after all!

Themyscira · 30/01/2020 16:04

Perhaps a new thread would aid clarity to this new update?

theunknownknown · 30/01/2020 16:07

This is my response from Center Parcs - assuming it’s the corporate template. I will be drafting a response.

‘Thank you for your email regarding changing rooms in the Aqua Sana at Center Parcs.
I can advise we always seek to make Center Parcs as inclusive and accessible as possible for all our guests, visitors, and employees. We also treat everyone as an individual and ensure every guest and employee, is treated with dignity and respect.
We trust our guests to make sensible decisions and conduct themselves with respect for each other. Should any inappropriate behaviour be highlighted in any area, we would of course intervene. We have many guests with different views and requirements, and we do our best to balance these reasonably.
I do hope we may welcome you to Center Parcs in the near future.’

R0wantrees · 30/01/2020 16:08

Centre Parks have come to a sensible conclusion in terms of balancing trans right' with women and children's safety.

Single sex changing spaces are provided for women & girls safety, privacy & dignity. Allowing access to places where females are undressing & showering to some males who've advised Centre Parcs that they identify as women compromises the sex-based Safeguarding.
If Centre Parcs are not advising their female customers that the changing area is now potentially mixed-sex then they have failed in the duty of care that they have.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 30/01/2020 16:16

We trust our guests to make sensible decisions

Well that seems very silly...on so many levels

wellbehavedwomen · 30/01/2020 16:18

I do hope we may welcome you to Center Parcs in the near future.

They think women will want to go somewhere where natal males can access communal women's changing rooms at will?

Bless their hearts.

wellbehavedwomen · 30/01/2020 16:20

@Jaxhog - think you need to read the updates. They are now adopting self ID. Anyone claiming to be a woman is permitted to use the communal changing rooms at will.

TimeLady · 30/01/2020 16:42

This is even worse than the high street changing rooms debacle.

What if a pre-op transwoman decides not to use the private cubicle, but strips off in the communal area? Is that going to be deemed 'inappropriate behaviour'? I can't see how they can now suggest it is, having knowingly given those with ladydicks access to the changing room.

R0wantrees · 30/01/2020 16:49

If females are naked / semi-undressed whilst changing / showering then a male who has identified themselves as a woman to Centre Parcs & being granted access to facilities within the formerly single-sex areas would surely expect to be able to do the same should they choose?

TimeLady · 30/01/2020 17:00

Sadly, I feel the only way this will come to a head will be when the inevitable incidents are reported. Validation seekers are going to keep pushing the boundaries, aren't they?

Do we know if phones are allowed in the spa?

Kit19 · 30/01/2020 17:01

That is a completely nothing answer from CP. it’s basically “something something inclusive something why can’t ppl be nice? something something we’ll wait until something bad happens which will Of course make us sad, oh god please go away with your awkward questions

PiedImperial · 30/01/2020 17:04

Even if someone self identifying as a woman was getting changed in the cubicle, then would women and girls feel happy about getting charged in the communal area though, knowing that a male-bodied person had just walked through the area?

I don't think so - or at least I wouldn't. Not because they were a risk, but because I don't want a male-bodied person being able to see my female-bodied person when I am undressed.

So the "using the private cubicle" thing is a red herring to me, I'm afraid.

JellySlice · 30/01/2020 17:09

We trust our guests to make sensible decisions and conduct themselves with respect for each other.

Awww bless them. They can see into souls. They know that nobody nasty or underhand would ever stay at CP. How sweet.
