Holbeck, Leeds again: Rape effectively decriminalised

An old article, but worth revisiting. Last I heard, Leeds City Council were going to reconsider their policy. Does anyone know if they did? (I'm guessing not.)

Meanwhile - West Yorkshire Police. Can drive the length of England to hassle women about incorrect pronouns and misgendering people, but can't be bothered to prosecute male rapists when their victims have the misfortune to live in a council-sanctioned red light area.

It's depressing as fuck, OP. I don't know the answer to your question - I'd like to think it's been immediately reviewed and seen as abysmal state-sanctioned violence against women. But like you, I somehow doubt it.

Karabair · 29/10/2019 08:12

Well did they pay them? Because obviously if the poor rapists were so confused that the women they were raping and gang raping were prostituted women, then surely they must have given them money after attacking them.

Of course that would still leave the fact that prostituted women are apparently unrapeable in male eyes.

Fuck the police. Fuck men. They allow this to happen.

Yes. Agree 100%. Male violence.

Am now expecting three buses to come along. Sorry did I say buses? I meant to say NAMALTERS.

This doesn't have many signatures. I shared it on my social media and I'm surprised noone commented, tbh.

SnuggyBuggy · 29/10/2019 08:24

That's vile

PotholePalace · 29/10/2019 08:33

But surely if a woman is saying 'no' then it's rape whether she's a sex worker or not. How can MPs morally allow this to happen in their constituency?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 29/10/2019 08:36

Truly vile, made worse by that first comment... a man says he has paid his tax and sex workers get paid cash in hand. So that must make abducting and sexually assaulting women alright then!

Twat!

Catapultaway · 29/10/2019 08:40

"Fuck the police. Fuck men. They allow this to happen."

To be fair to the police, they gathered the evidence, charged him and sent him to court, it's not their fault in this case. It's the court proceedings that failed this girl, she shouldn't have been allowed to be cross examined th way she was.

Karabair · 29/10/2019 08:45

Fuck the CPS then. The second case wasn't even prosecuted and she was abducted by a gang and raped.
