Men have periods too

I don't know about anyone else- but not only does this not make sense. Why are activists using their wee ones to make these stupid statements. Please say I'm not the only one?

Men have periods too

Be sure they are going for the "so easy even a child can do it"
Rather than "get a child young enough and you can teach them anything."

Good grief.

If that's a male child he will worry about getting pregnant when older then, if this is what he's being taught.

Either that or he has no vocab for the male and female of our species which is equally weird.

Sleepyhead19 · 25/10/2019 19:24

Men don’t have periods. Trans men might as they are biologically women, but biological men do not ever have periods. The statement is incorrect and I find it incredibly distasteful that they have used a child to photograph with their beliefs.

Fraggling · 25/10/2019 19:25

If a female child will presumably be hoping they are one of the girls who don't ever get periods and this is normal so no need to tell anyone.

dancemom · 25/10/2019 19:27

News flash.

No. No they don't.

MadnessInMethod · 25/10/2019 19:30

That kid is what, age 3?

Children that age will believe whatever you tell them.

Men can have periods and the Easter bunny and Santa are real - and probably non fucking binary.

MockersthefeMANist · 25/10/2019 19:30

Some people used to think barnacle geese sprouted out of molluscs on rocks, which was handy since that made them fish and you could eat them on Fridays.

Michelleoftheresistance · 25/10/2019 19:42

Crack on. It's getting so obviously ridiculous now that the general public will say exactly what any sane person would say on seeing that: nonsense.

I saw a comment today in an article about it being fine for people born male to say this and that so long as they changed their pronouns, and the first detached thought I had was, so the next step will be 'I can be a woman and not even change my pronouns'. 'Women can be he and him too'. 'Pronouns are a social construct and exist on a spectrum'.

Yada yada yada.

midcenturylegs · 25/10/2019 19:43

What I find ironic is that the kid is dressed in a blue top (PJs?) depicting stereotypical boys' clothes-wear. And not a pink/purple Lego piece in sight. So raising him obviously as a boy?

WomaninBoots · 25/10/2019 19:49

If only we had a word to collectively describe all the people that potentially get periods. That would be a useful word when talking about such people as a group, and discussing things like health problems and social issues related to periods etc etc... wouldn't it?

I'm amazed the English language doesn't have such a word already.

ThreeLittleDinosaursROAR · 25/10/2019 19:59

I can get my children to hold a sign saying 'The moon is made of cheese, if I can get it so can you', with the cheesiest grins ever. I could easily convince my children the moon is made of cheese. But the reality is, you can't will a moon into cheese. The moon is the moon, cheese is cheese.

PlasticPatty · 25/10/2019 20:04

I find the world we live in - the world of lies - fucking scary.

AlunWynsKnee · 25/10/2019 20:09

The words could easily have been photo shopped onto that board.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 25/10/2019 20:13

Why is this person using their child in their attempt at propaganda?

MartiniDry · 25/10/2019 20:22

Just greet this type of gormless inanity with hysterical laughter and then ignore. There's little that'll piss them off more. 🤣🤣🤣

CigarsofthePharoahs · 25/10/2019 20:22

No they don't. Biology and all that.
Mother nature is clearly a well manicured field of grass.

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 25/10/2019 20:26

Totalitarianism is scary. You'd be a fool not to be horrified by this nonsense. Most people are, it is being imposed from on high against the wishes of the vast majority.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 25/10/2019 20:26

Also that kid can't be more than 4, probably younger. Did you know what periods were at 4? I did not.

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 25/10/2019 20:29

I don't know, kittens, I barely remember anything before I was four, and we moved house just after my fourth birthday so I can date pre-post four pretty accurately.

Karabair · 25/10/2019 20:30

Little children believe in Santa Claus. Sadly they can be made to believe anything.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 25/10/2019 20:31

I can't imagine why anyone would be discussing periods with a toddler other than in an attempt to get an early start on the indoctrination.

Where did you find this photo?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 25/10/2019 20:36

That's rather an awkward, uncomfortable look on the kid's face so maybe whoever took the photo actually was babbling on at him about men having periods.
