Who decided this was a step in the right direction?

This just came up in my FB feed.

Heart radio have decided that removing the 'female logo' from san pro is a step in the right direction.

I would love to know who decided this?

Most of the comments, though show lots of people think this is ridiculous.

Who decided this was a step in the right direction?

Wtf do they need to show a used sanitary towel for? Are there no depths these complete and utterly stupid morons won’t sink to?

slipperywhensparticus · 25/10/2019 14:26

There have been a few threads deleted about this so I wont share the link of transwomen "how to fake a period" this time

The thing that pisses me off is natal women ask for the horrendous vulva boiling thrush inducing stench to be removed nothing happens ben the transman asks for the symbol to be removed it gets done I feel like writing to them tell them the smell gives me an itchy dick and maybe then they will quit it

Anotherlongdrive · 25/10/2019 14:29

I think the sanitary towel has red glitter on it, when you look at the photo FB Hmm

I confess I'm confused. Some trans people like to wear sanitary protection even though they don't need it, because it makes them feel more 'womanly'. Surely this is invalidating them?

Anotherlongdrive · 25/10/2019 14:34

Apparantly it upsets some trans men to be reminded by the packaging that they are a biological female.

I have 2 issues with this. Firstly, I am yet to see a trans man complain about this. Not saying they havent. I havenr seen it.

Secondly, surely having the period in the first place, is a bigger reminder.

This makes no sense

We've officially dropped into the upside down

Carparkticket · 25/10/2019 14:38

A) it does not bother me in the slightest that they have used red colouring on it, it is blood. It is what it is.
B) mad. I read the “not all women menstruate” WTAF. I guess they mean that some people identify as women when they don’t have the “menstruating gear”
No, I don’t think this is a step in the right direction, I think I am worried that women are being more and more reduced to nothing.
Can’t we leave it at be and let be?

tobee · 25/10/2019 14:40

If that is red glitter that's hilarious! It's like a parody! Special glitter periods for trans women.

user1480880826 · 25/10/2019 14:44

Why are they so fucking sensitive?!! 99.9% of the users of these products are women who identify as female.

It would be like me asking M&S to remove the word “men” from the men’s wear department because I sometimes like to buy oversized jumpers for myself.

NonnyMouse1337 · 25/10/2019 14:46

As Anotherlongdrive says, it's for transmen who apparently can't bear to be reminded about their biology, so everyone has to bend over backwards to say things like 'it's not just women who menstruate' or 'men have periods too' or 'people who menstruate'.

However, if they are already having periods then they are female and no amount of pretending and denial and forcing others to pretend for you is going to change that fact.

BigFatLiar · 25/10/2019 14:59

It would be like me asking M&S to remove the word “men” from the men’s wear department because I sometimes like to buy oversized jumpers for myself.

But then you're not trans just a cross dresser.

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 25/10/2019 15:00

Always changed their packaging as the result of one, just one, XX trans person complaining.

Thousands upon thousands of women have complained about their vile, irritation inducing scented crap and been ignored.

Always are bigots who only listen to trans privilege activists.

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 25/10/2019 15:02

then you're not trans just a cross dresser

Cross dressing is trans, ask Stonewall.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 25/10/2019 15:04

Their men's cotton pajamas are very comfy. Way better than the twee women's range. I guess that makes me a man between the hours of 10pm and 7am.

teawamutu · 25/10/2019 15:06

How about complaining to Always that the horrible accent is too girly and is triggering you so you demand an unscented version...?

BigFatLiar · 25/10/2019 15:08

Cross dressing is trans, ask Stonewall.

Well thats Stonewall for you. I have cross dressing friend who'd be more than a little annoyed if he was called trans, as far as he's concerned he likes dresses and skirts and that doesn't make him a woman (by any spelling)

Anotherlongdrive · 25/10/2019 15:19

Always changed their packaging as the result of one, just one, XX trans person complaining.

I saw a trans woman moaning. Didnt see a trans man doing it however. So thank you for that. Not that it make a huge difference.

The period will still be there. Which is there because they are female.

Who decided?
I don't know, but I can absolutely guarantee you one thing....... that they are leftwing and intersectional.

As Anotherlongdrive says, it's for transmen who apparently can't bear to be reminded about their biology

I'm quite sceptical about that claim, as we all know which type of transpeople scream the loudest then the earth moves for them, and we all know which type of transpeople are hell bent on erasing womanhood so they can claim it for themselves, and we all know which type of transpeople frequently complain about associating womanhood with female biology.
It's not normally transmen.

Qcng · 25/10/2019 15:31

Saying "it's for transmen and non binary people" is a bit gaslighty imo.

BigFatLiar · 25/10/2019 15:35

On the other hand it is perhaps a bit daft labeling something so obviously for female use as 'for women'. Almost suggests that women need telling this is for them.

C0untDucku1a · 25/10/2019 15:35

Whats ftfy?

C0untDucku1a · 25/10/2019 15:36

sorry. Found it!

ErrolTheDragon · 25/10/2019 15:41

A step in the right direction to erase the internationally recognised symbol for 'female' - routinely used by scientists? Hmm Righty-ho.

In a sense it doesn't matter in this case - these products are only of any use to females. Everyone knows that. But in other contexts, it does matter. Any suggestion that the Venus symbol is taboo is seriously problematic.
