Who decided this was a step in the right direction?

This just came up in my FB feed.

Heart radio have decided that removing the 'female logo' from san pro is a step in the right direction.

I would love to know who decided this?

Most of the comments, though show lots of people think this is ridiculous.

Who decided this was a step in the right direction?

Yes, the loudest and most aggressive activists are transwomen, Qcng.
But I have come across transmen and those from the the non-binary alphabet soup (albeit online) who get very upset when things aren't 'inclusive'. All the hot arguments and lectures I've experienced and seen online come from women who can't bear to be called women or their 'cis allies'.

There was a men only mental health support group started in Scotland recently and soon after its launch a transman caused a big scene online because the organisers said, no it's male only. Of course the men stood their ground, endured some abuse and the transman eventually slinked away, which is the difference. If it was a female only group, the transwomen would have been relentless. The organisers still issued a grovelling apology but said they would continue to keep the group male only.

I have regular arguments with women who exhibit great offense at being described as women and prefer all sorts of labels, while still wanting to be included in women groups online and demanding that things be changed like the group name so that they feel included. eyeroll

I have cross dressing friend who'd be more than a little annoyed if he was called trans, as far as he's concerned he likes dresses and skirts and that doesn't make him a woman (by any spelling)

A lot of gnc women are more than a little annoyed that they are labeled as "cis" too, but hey, who are we to decide our own identities?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 25/10/2019 17:28

The "right" direction is one in which we all collectively pretend that we don't know that women menstruate and men do not?

There truly are people who quite enjoy seeing women 'put in their place'.

The facts stand: one TM verbalised an issue. Always instantly made a thing of separating evidence of biology away from their product.
Many women have verbalised they're not happy about this. No one cares. Women have verbalised for ages en masse about the scented issue. No one cares.

Several new posters have arrived on threads discussing it to tell women they're irrational, it doesn't matter, they have no business minding about this when there are other feminist issues they haven't solved yet.

Obvious: women's feelings not important to anyone. Offending and silencing women: pretty much a virtuous thing to do. Pleasure for some in smugly reminding women of this.

Equally obvious: a lot of evidence of exactly what women are saying about sexism and oppression of women.

CloudRusting · 25/10/2019 17:53

There are people on my FB posting about “how this is just great inclusivity I don’t understand why anyone would object And anyway nobody bought it because of the symbol”. And because I don’t want a fight in public I have left it.

But to me whilst on one level yeah it doesn’t matter to me (I hated the smell of this brand and didn’t notice the logo previously) in my mind this is the thin edge of the wedge where we have to refer to pregnant persons and chest feeding because inclusivity.

Fraggling · 25/10/2019 18:04

RED GLITTER?

It's blood ffs and lumps of utetine lining. It's gore ffs.

But no it's something for women so let's pretend it's lovely shiny red FUCKING glitter.

That has enraged me.

Something that causes to many problems for women and girls all over the world including death reduced to Sparkly prettikins because girls.

FUCK OFF.

jackiebrisset · 25/10/2019 18:26

Here's a fun spoof.

Who decided this was a step in the right direction?
TheProdigalKittensReturn · 25/10/2019 18:31

I think I'd rather feel invalidated than get thrush, tbh. So I'd say removing the scent really ought to be a higher priority.

DuMondeB · 25/10/2019 19:08

Perhaps they will replace that god-awful floral air freshener smell with something a bit more Lynx Africa?

MeganChips · 25/10/2019 20:34

The comments on the Facebook feed are mostly sensible at least. They often are outside of the Twitter bubble. The general public aren’t buying it.

Michelleoftheresistance that is depressingly true.

NarcoNympho · 26/10/2019 01:31

THIS IS NOT FOR TRANS WOMEN’S BENEFIT, ITS FOR TRANS MEN AND NON BINARY FOLK

2BthatUnnoticed · 26/10/2019 04:38

We are aware. There is no need to shout Confused

Anotherlongdrive · 26/10/2019 09:41

Yes we know, well oartially. Erasing women suits a lot of Transwomen.

Still not a step in the right direction.

I shared the Heart post on my Facebook because I was that infuriated by it and there was virtual tumbleweed. I can't believe so few women i know have little or no opinion on the erasure of Womanhood to appease a handful of women who have REJECTED womanhood. I'm baffled by the silence. We have every right to object to this erasure. I don't care if it's not PC. Wish more women would speak up.

NeurotrashWarrior · 26/10/2019 10:03

So the female symbol is officially outlawed.

Patriarchy is gonna patriarchy some how...

PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind · 26/10/2019 10:04

What the fuck is with the glitter?

I would imagine that a large proportion of the Heart Radio demographic wouldn't be on board with this sort of thing - not really 'woke, queer theory' types....

NeurotrashWarrior · 26/10/2019 10:06

Women have had to learn to turn a blind eye and ignore sexism and misogyny for ever.

Transmen need to learn that it's part of being born female to have to deal with packaging you don't like.

All roads appear to direct to men being the default.

Fuck. Off.

Fraggling · 26/10/2019 10:09

I'm so glad that getting your first period at age just turned 10 as my daughters did and the developing body to go with it so men start looking at 10 FFS 10, has been deemed SPARKLY AND GLITTERY.

These people are utterly self obsessed and totally lacking in any care or bother about what periods really mean for girls all over the world. Old enough. Ready for marriage. Big enough to leer at. Banished while menstruating to somewhere freezing cold. Fertile and forced to birth in many countries if they are raped.

This is deliberate. The compartmentalising of our biological functions (sex) in order to minimise the consequences in a world that sexualises and oppresses women and girls, in order to remove the ability to see the whole picture.

Well my 2 menstruators get leered at my men even though they are so young, because periods come with female puberty meaning hips breasts and in the uk this means many men feel that its their right to stare and look up and down without a second thought for the person on the receiving end. How old they are, how it makes them feel. It is a right of men, over our girls.

Of course some (lees) tell us street harrassment is empowering. And if we and our daughters don't like it we are spoiling other peoples fun.

All of this, all of it is about removing our ability to name ourselves, our issues, to see the whole picture.

Sorry for rant am angry this morning.

Red FUCKING glitter.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 26/10/2019 10:25

10 to 1 think this is bullshit.

This is going to give me the kick up the arse I need to move to reusable period wear.

Who decided this was a step in the right direction?
OrchidInTheSun · 26/10/2019 10:28

Why is the word 'folk' used so often when discussing these issues? It really gets on my tits.

Always are idiots. Still, as we have discussed on other threads, Always scented pads give vaginas thrush so people who use the word 'folk' are welcome to them. V environmentally unfriendly to boot

ChattyLion · 26/10/2019 10:57

Fraggling that’s not a rant at all. I am really sorry that your kids are having to deal with that crap. It’s appalling.

OnlyTheTitOfTheIceberg · 26/10/2019 12:24

SarahConnorFem I can’t speak up about this sort of thing on FB because I could lose my job if someone maliciously-minded reported it to my employer because they’ve been captured by the Woke Stasi (I don’t have my employer’s name on my profile but some FB friends do know where I work - ex-colleagues who know where I moved on to, a handful of others). I’d like to think they wouldn’t but it’s not a risk I’m prepared to take. Some of your friends may be in the same position.

(And yes, it drives me up the fucking wall that speaking up for biology, facts and women’s rights could be a sackable offence and I wish it weren’t so - but with a disabled DH and a mortgage to pay I stick to anonymised forums to vent my wrath.)

UpfieldHatesWomen · 26/10/2019 12:53

Have you seen the Twitter hastag #MyAlwaysExperience that's been trending the past few days? Women all over Africa complaining about how Always towels burn their skin off. They're saying that Africa is given substandard products, but other threads on here show that women in the West also have the same problem and hate the effect the unnecessarily scented products have. Might be worth joining in and pointing out how women in their masses can complain about this but aren't listened to, yet one trans man complains and hey presto!
OrchidintheSun I also hate the use of 'folk' and 'y'all' the TRA's use, it's such a transparent attempt to make transgenderism appear that it's something that's always been around in the same form it is today, just another rewrite of history and putting a friendly face on bodily mutilation, medication and capitulation to an sexist ideology. Gawd, is there nothing about this movement that isn't cult-like and rapey.
