If you're a beauty therapist and a trans woman came to you to ask for their scrotum to be waxed, what would your response be? More to the point, would you think refusing to do so is in breach of human rights? Fortunately, a court in Vancouver has seen common sense and ruled that it absolutely does not. No one has the 'right' to have their genitals waxed, whilst women that refuse to perform the procedure are well within their rights.

Pmsl @wrath

My oh my what a glorious selection of Yaniv's selfies the Mirror has chosen to illustrate that article.

Aw, they missed my all-time favourite: ‘Unprepossessing fat man, inexplicably dressed as a Smurf, hovering in the ladies’ loos’ Sad

mumwon · 24/10/2019 19:27

missed an opportunity there mind: devious idea of stating I don't do waxing - I shave- than gets out cut throat razor with an appropriate demon look in eye...

Do I need any special tools?

WrathofSIxFootSIxElfKlop · 24/10/2019 19:30

Would veet work?

WrathofSIxFootSIxElfKlop · 24/10/2019 19:32

I am going to report my last post as its not very funny.

JasBBGG · 24/10/2019 19:38

@WrathofSIxFootSIxElfKlop don't forget a patch test 48 hours before 😂

Soontobe60 · 24/10/2019 19:40

@WrathofSIxFootSIxElfKlop
Perhaps an epilator? 😳

Yes, a patch test first, where do you suggest?

Soontobe60
I'm not going to use an epilator because I'm learning how to wax and I am unable to multi task. Grin

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 24/10/2019 20:27

wrath

Maybe plucking? With a really long set of tweezers...dont want to get too close

WrathofSIxFootSIxElfKlop · 24/10/2019 20:46

Plucking might work Rufus.
I'll give it a go at arms length, it's worth a try.

Due to the overwhelming response as to where I should do the patch test.
I have decided to do the patch test in the back room.

Do I need stirrups?

WrathofSIxFootSIxElfKlop · 24/10/2019 20:51

Not for me. obvs

Qcng · 24/10/2019 21:26

Was JY ordered to pay $2000 to three workers each, or $2000 divided between three workers?

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 24/10/2019 22:01

Do I need stirrups?

Im taking this much too seriously

But no, i dont reckon

It’ll be heels up to butt and floppy legs

Will need a magnifying glass...dont want to miss any hairs, or pull enything out accidentally

WrathofSIxFootSIxElfKlop · 24/10/2019 23:03

I thought about a bright light to go with the magnifying glass.
To minimise accidental slippage. Or pullage

Music playing in the background.
Nearly there.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 24/10/2019 23:07

Oooh oooh wrath nice smells!!!!!!

To disguise the not nice smells

Whatwouldbigfatfannydo · 24/10/2019 23:12

@highheelsandwitcheshats

I didn't mean that you did. I just despair that shit like that makes it to print. Men are erasing the concept of consent. We're all fucked.

WrathofSIxFootSIxElfKlop · 24/10/2019 23:13

Good one Rufus
A wide selection of two available,

Brute

Babdoc · 24/10/2019 23:20

Qcng, I think it was three separate payments of $2000 each. But even that is insufficient, considering that some of those women lost their livelihoods, having to close their business rather than give in to blackmail and the threat of litigation that they couldn’t afford.
I think the compensation should have been much higher, plus costs and punitive damages. The vile person got off lightly in my view.

andyoldlabour · 25/10/2019 07:40

“Self-identification does not erase physiological reality."

At last, some sense of normality is prevailing.

StylishMummy · 25/10/2019 07:49

@andyoldlabour when I saw that I did a happy dance.

I work somewhere very 'woke' where several people have transitioned and I am completely unable to question this without risking serious disciplinary action.

Thankfully, all the men in dresses use the disabled toilets at the moment. If that changes I'm going to have to disclose to my employer about childhood SA, as I can't then use the facilities at work.

andyoldlabour · 25/10/2019 08:19

StylishMummy

"I work somewhere very 'woke' where several people have transitioned"

I find this astonishing, because I have worked in large (1000 plus staff) organisations, and I have never come across a transgender person (or have I?). For the last couple of years I have been working from home, so perhaps there has been a rapid increase?

Babdoc · 25/10/2019 09:36

30 years ago we had one who was a junior doctor working at my hospital.
This individual wanted to use the female changing room in our operating theatre.
The female nursing and medical staff, quite rightly, refused to undress in front of a male bodied person.
The individual refused to use the male changing room.
There was a stand off, until a compromise was reached - the female staff would change first, then they would announce that the room was empty, and the doctor could go in alone. If they wanted to go in there again later to use the female lavatory, they had to get a nurse to check first that the changing room was empty.
It wasn’t ideal for either side, but it was at least workable. I shudder to think of how an entitled TRA activist would react in that situation nowadays.

The only thing self id changes (or attempts to change) is the meaning of words. So ‘woman’ ceases to mean what it has always meant and men claim this new definition includes them and therefore everything pertaining to that word should include them. Nothing else changes.
