H/T to Posie's FB for the update, but am pleased to say Unicef have corrected their gender/sex error on their summary of the UNCRC!

(obviously I never got so much as a reply, let alone change, so clearly they realised Posie is (a) public and (b) wouldn't let it go. But a win's a win in my book!)

And Maya has tweeted it, if you wish to RT or lend support: twitter.com/MForstater/status/1186304153192222720

Don't put yourself down, your contribution matters. One solitary Posie writing in would not, I suspect, have made much of a difference. Many like you writing in did make one. Even if they couldn't be bothered to reply.

Fantastic

It’s bonkers that it needs pursuing, but well done to you Op for doing that

Well done OP, Posie and everyone else who pointed this out. Flowers

Excellent work all.

This publicly demonstrates that we were dead right about this.
(We all knew that anyway)

Deliberately changing words in policy documents went unnoticed.

People are waking up to the terrible consequences of changing the word sex to gender in legal documents.

A deliberate action they almost got away with.
Thankyou PosieFlowers

Deliberately changing words in policy documents went unnoticed.

I reviewed a section of a corporate policy document for my own company recently. Gender had crept in to a completely different section (out of an innocuous second language error, not malicious)

It was no longer there by the time it left my desk! Grin

To recap for newcomers.

Stephen Whittle contributed to the Yogyakarta, Principles in 2006 and a supplement was added in 2017.

It is worth googling this to see how gender and gender expression have become legal entities that obscures the word sex.

Brilliant!! Well done to all involved and everyone who challenges this wherever and whenever you see it!

Well done UNICEF.
