The Guardian usually provides me with a shot of instant rage, and, reliable as ever, the front page of the review (my dh's) had the words 'what a time to be a black, british, womxn writer'.
Does anyone else feel , like, a big 'fuck off' when they read that?

Thank you all. My mum is amazing.

Like many women of her generation she quietly got on with actually breaking down the barriers without expecting 'stunning and brave' plaudits for doing so.

That quiet determination is infinitely more admirable than all the modern posing and posturing on social media could ever be.

Surely it's just making the word less inclusive by making it stand out that someone isn't a 'real woman' as actual biological females who identify as such are really unlikely to use it to describe themselves Confused

Yes, it annoys me, but turning it back on them amuses me hugely too and they did correct the website. They likely think not her again, but then the Microsoft scammers do too!

I got a series of phone calls from some scammers saying they were "calling from Windows" and after a series of double glazing jokes got bored of the whole thing and told them I didn't have any windows as I lived in a yurt. Being annoying is fun when the people on the other end deserve it!

According to the Womxn in Physics group at Kings College London, "womxn" is pronounced the same as "women".

Are they trying to perpetuate the myth that STEM people are likely to have poor SPAG skills?Hmm
