The outgoing SNP women's convener has warned candidates for the role about how they will spend their time dealing with aggressive feminists. Some choice quotes:

the outgoing convener Fiona Robertson says a significant portion of her time in the post has been spent dealing with the “abusive behaviour” towards members who express “support for equalities”.

Speaking to The National, Robertson warned of “an anti-trans lobby” working “with the homophobic right in the USA”.
“A lot of people in Scotland are being radicalised against trans people; they call it peak trans-ing,” she said.
“These groups are well-organised and effective online, so the abuse they target at anyone who speaks up in support of trans people’s rights is grinding. As a disabled woman with fluctuating energy and depression, it was overwhelming, and it was important that people stepping forward understood how tough it can be.”

Six women are standing for the Women’s Convener role – which for the first time will now be separate from the Equalities Convener position.

^Colette Walker who hasn’t signed the pledge, told The National: “I support LGBT rights but there are real concerns that any male who wants to identify as female to enter female safe spaces, or positions reserved for females or female sports. If Out4Indy offer that reassurance I would be happy to sign.”
Walker is, however, the only candidate to have backed a Women’s Pledge.^
The commitment, backed by Cherry, says “women have the right to maintain their sex-based protections as set out in the Equality Act 2010.”

Speaking to The National, Robertson warned of “an anti-trans lobby” working “with the homophobic right in the USA”.

Women like me who are left wing SNP supporters, who have a lesbian daughter and bi stepson who they adore and support unconditionally, who hate Trump and are atheist.

Women like Joan Mcalpine.

Ordinary women who can see through this sham and want to speak up for women's rights.

I wish this highly paid and affluent far right in the US was a) visible to the naked eye and b) did something useful like pay for a security force to prevent meetings being disrupted, or pay for expensive meetings with high profile people, or produce expensive packs to roll out to school, or pay teams to go do inclusion training that actually represents the law right, or do youtube advertising about women having rights, you know, the stuff like Stonewall and Mermaids do, because it's almost like this forever being banged on about group don't really exist at all. They don't even turn up with coffee or make lemon drizzle cake or anything useful.

PMSL mockers.

I don't like that this speaker feels ground down by all this. But it's pretty grim that she really thinks it's all about imported right wing US opinions. This is stuff I experienced myself, here in the UK. And the US centric nature of concepts like 'assigned at birth by a doctor' is so obvious. How many uk births have a doctor present compared to the us? They had to fudge it to 'assigned at birth by a health care practitioner' for the uk market and then just chopped it off to 'assigned at birth'. Did you really 'peak midwife' Fiona?

Yet again those American right wingers are failing to pay me.

I feeling seriously left out now.

By the way Fiona, it isn't the US 'homophobes' who are transing away the gay. That'd be you and your buddies so I'd not go round accusing others of homophobia if I were you.

You really can’t expect the SNP to get this right. They’ve never got anything right!
They are entirely “spin over substance”, and only care about virtue signalling, woke cookies and “being different to England”.
Just look at the mess they’ve made over Named Person (now finally abandoned after wasting millions), education (they removed us from international league tables as our plummeting rating was a national embarrassment) taxation (the highest in the U.K., affecting recruitment of GPS), etc
And not forgetting the delightful Mhairi Black- an SNP lesbian MP who unbelievably backs trans rights activists and throws women and lesbians under the bus.
Sturgeon will never support feminists against the trans invasion of our spaces - she is hell bent on making Scotland the “progressive”, woke capital of Britain.

I kind of feel like things like, say, rampant food insecurity should be a bit more of a priority than being more Woke than the English.

If only there was a like button Babdoc.

But I wasn’t ‘peaked’ by anything on here, or the internet, or online; but by kids brainwashed into questioning my “gender identity” as a woman who War games and makes models, likes engineering and fixes cars. By being told by someone I know who works with kids that if I was in education today I’d probably be encouraged to go trans. By being unable to pee because my anxiety didn’t let me go into a toilet full of men.

Penis Exclusionary and Proud

You are spot on Babdoc. MB is a bloody disgrace, and Sturgeon is a one trick pony, only interested in independence over everything else, including the rights of women.
