Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

This has been a burden in our lives for a few years now and finally someone has got to the bottom of it...

For a few years now someone who we trusted to follow us on our lesbian rights fight has been consistently letting us down and trying to silence us.
There has been so much disinformation given by them about us, our friends and our family - all without our permission or knowledge.
After a long time of trying to figure out who it could be, for various reasons, we had a suspicion. To try and prove this, we came up with an idea, we looked at what they’d been saying on their accounts over time.
(Those who have been fighting for lesbian rights for years must have been wondering why they’d been let down).
Over the past five months we have posted a series of true stories to see if they made their way into the news feeds of one organisation in particular.
And you know what, they didn’t! The story about gender ideology erasing lesbians, the story about women being threatened, harassed and silenced, and then the latest story about young lesbians being bullied and coerced into sleeping with men dressed as women.
It's been tough keeping it to ourselves and not making many comments at all, especially when the stories have been true, however we had to. Now we know for certain which account/individual that’s disappointing us.
We have saved and screenshotted all the original stories which clearly show just one organisation has ignored them.
It's...........Stonewall’s account.

[Thank you to whoever wrote this. Sadly it wasn’t me!]

They pretty much ignored International Lesbian Day, I saw. One tweet and a short piece about lesbians who work at Stonewall.

PN also. They only managed a very poor article and barely mentioned it at all.

sunshinesupermum · 10/10/2019 15:57

Perhaps Stonewall is really male based (misogynistic) after all. If so, shame on them.

mogtheexcellent · 10/10/2019 16:00
Grin
Qcng · 10/10/2019 16:04

I noticed a tweet on international lesbian day by Stonewall that read "we support trans people" and absolutely nothing about lesbians.

Wtf is wrong with them?
oh... wait I can already answer that

BarbaraStrozzi · 10/10/2019 16:30

Another Grin from me.

BelleHathor · 10/10/2019 16:43

🎤 Mic Drop 👍👏👏

IamEarthymama · 10/10/2019 16:45

Well done! 😊❤️
I doubt you will be on the front of any newspapers or headlines on the news!

I wonder what real news would have been in the headlines this week?

thirdfiddle · 10/10/2019 18:04

I don't understand. Am I missing a reference?

Goosefoot · 10/10/2019 18:09

I'm a bit confused as well.

OhHolyJesus · 10/10/2019 18:32

I think the reference is Rebecca Vardy vs Coleen Rooney. I saw it in papers today.

Rooney accuses Vardy of sharing posts from Rooney's private Instagram or something.

Can't say I cared enough to read all but the last line of it. The OP has copied the format.

thirdfiddle · 10/10/2019 18:34

Ahhhh. Not a reference I was ever likely to pick up!

birdsdestiny · 10/10/2019 18:36

Yes it's a GC version of a tweet that Coleen Rooney made about Rebecca Vardy.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 10/10/2019 18:40

Stonewall have been homophobic for ages now. And misogynist. They’re simply a trans rights organisation because after they achieved same-sex marriage, LGB rights were no longer profitable.

For anyone who hasn’t seen it: I give you Ruth Hunt, recently Stonewall Chief Exec, saying airily that ‘men are always going to rape women’. blogs.spectator.co.uk/2019/09/can-you-imagine-a-lobbyist-against-womens-rights-being-made-a-peer/

InfiniteSheldon · 10/10/2019 18:45

Excellent

Goosefoot · 10/10/2019 18:46

The OP has copied the format.

Ok, that's what I thought. I guess I don't think it quite works here, notwithstanding Stonewall letting down people they are supposed to advocate for.

Coyoacan · 11/10/2019 20:21

I didn't know the reference and got it very clearly.

Nowadays everything has an inappropriate name. If it's an LGBT organisation, it will not represent lesbians, if women is in the title, it will be all about men.

Sagradafamiliar · 11/10/2019 20:30

Boom.

ChattyLion · 11/10/2019 21:38

Hahaha excellent Grin

Inebriati · 11/10/2019 21:45

I didn't know the reference but its a familiar situation so it works.

VickyEadieofThigh · 12/10/2019 11:04

I thought it worked well as a parody. Also, it's TRUE.
