If you think marsupials have weird genitals you do not even want to know about female hyenas.

Suffice to say they make human child birth look like a stroll in the park on a sunny day.

NeurotrashWarrior · 10/10/2019 10:07

Now read full thread. Am off work with mild fever and can't make sense of kangaroos genitals on top of all the rest...

NeurotrashWarrior · 10/10/2019 10:09

Mouthy, I'm with you. I find this sort of celebration of non binary stuff sickening

Marsupials generally have got the whole childbirth thing correct in my view
Get 'em out young and stick 'em in your pocket

I've always said this, our way is so long winded and hazardous. Not sure is I'd want 3 vaginas though! Grin

MouthyHarpy · 10/10/2019 11:40

Oh @NeurotrashWarrior I actually looked at the Insta "scar" pic - 2 of my sisters have had mastectomies (one would have died without a radical mastectomy) - I may have to have one. This is not something about identity. It makes me so angry (I can hardly say how and why).

NeurotrashWarrior · 10/10/2019 12:04

Mouthy, I'm so sorry to hear that.

I now know several women my age who've had mastectomies and one who has died from breast cancer. Makes me furious. Also as I've breastfed both children; this is the true nature of breasts.

To me it's akin to breast ironing; both are driven by patriarchal structures but just self inflicted and neater.

SisterWendyBuckett · 10/10/2019 12:18

MouthyHarpy I'm so sorry Thanks

My mother in law had a mastectomy and subsequently died of breast cancer. Several friends have been diagnosed and had treatment. One recently begged her oncologist for a mastectomy so the cancer wouldn't return. His professional opinion was no - too traumatic and not medically necessary.

My own trans identified daughter is desperate to have a double mastectomy, and will as
soon as she gets the green light. I have no words either to express how I feel. The situation we are currently in is beyond a nightmare.

RolytheRhino · 10/10/2019 12:23

Off to Google hyena birth...

MouthyHarpy · 10/10/2019 12:24

Oh SisterWendy Flowers Flowers you must be desperate about your beautiful girl. (I have a niece who's on the same path, but seems to be abetted by my SiL)

Trewser · 10/10/2019 12:27

Sadly and playing devils advocate slightly I thought that the head teacher sounded far more plausible. Stephanie sounded harassed and the average listener won't have a clue what Transgender trend is. Still waiting for the breakthrough!

IamEarthymama · 10/10/2019 12:31

Trewser, I have to disagree!
I thought Stephanie was very clear in her explanation
The headteacher was disingenuous in the extreme as he dismissed influences on schools and teaching on this issue.

This is not a subject that responds well to this sound bite segment approach.

If only a broadcaster would be allowed to set out the gender critical viewpoint in a documentary.
Not enough glitter I guess.

NeurotrashWarrior · 10/10/2019 12:45

Oh sisterWendy Sad Thanks

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 10/10/2019 12:56

So sorry about that Wendy. When I was young I was so certain about many things which I no longer believe. It’s terrible to see this certainty taken advantage of.

TemporaryPermanent · 10/10/2019 14:45

Sisterwendy Flowers I really wonder about the health professionals who facilitate this.
