This was on a gc friend's Facebook.
The highlighted bit is particularly interesting.
No, it's not the onion.
In this ancient bygone age children were brought by storks.
And by magical thinking.

Male and female biology belong to a bygone age.

What was the source?

From this sentence in that article I assume pjmedia is conservative, and the comment in the OP was indeed ironic.

These free-for-all restrooms — a dream come true for perverts — will be on the first, third, and fifteenth floors.

On the plus side men can now no longer use urinals As an excuse not to take their kids to the toilet.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 08/10/2019 08:38

Portland living up to its reputation eh?

Grin
Alltheprettyseahorses · 08/10/2019 08:38

353,000 babies are born every day and men find urinals rather handy. I think male and female biology still have some relevance, unlike Portland's local government.

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 08/10/2019 09:00

Doesn't Portland have any real problems then? I could have sworn I read about opioid and homelessness problems requiring attention, and issues around policing to the point that the neighbouring county's police force will no longer lend a hand if called upon.

All this naval gazing about gender seems a bit 'fiddling while Rome burns'.

andyoldlabour · 08/10/2019 09:42

I got into a slight argument on a FB page, with a transwoman who tried to tell me that my version of biology (chromosomes and all that) went out in the 1970's. The person got quite sweary and rude about it Grin

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 08/10/2019 09:49

The 70s? Nah, biology was definitely still a thing when I went to school in the 80s. I've got an O' Grade in it and everything.

DuMondeB · 08/10/2019 11:17

One of my Portland dwelling mates recently saw a sign on a coffee shop tip jar asking customers not to use gendered language to describe the staff.

He instantly vowed to use their nearest competitor from now on.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 08/10/2019 11:22

Bygone era? Eh.
Men and women are biologically different. Pretending otherwise won't change that.

What a huge waste of fucking money.

RuffleCrow · 08/10/2019 11:30

What's the target for teenage pregnancies this year i wonder? 200% increase? Too many girls doing far too much with their lives. Better confuse the hell out of them about sexual reproduction and get them all knocked up by their 'girlfriends' asap. It can't just be coincidence that since the 00s we've had the lowest teen pregnancy rates since i don't know... the 60s? And suddenly basic biology is being laced with magical pixie dust and unicorns and other bullshit. Hmm

BiologyIsReal · 08/10/2019 12:01

Hippocrates thought women could have wandering wombs and this myth ran through the ages.

Clearly we now have a modern version - wandering chromosomes.

HandsOffMyRights · 08/10/2019 12:07

I wonder if Darwin's work is banned from schools there too Angry

Lolasaurous · 08/10/2019 19:43

Yeh he was being sarcastic but it is actually happening.

Lamahaha · 08/10/2019 22:51

That's how they think and are trying to impose on society in all seriousness, with a lot of success.
