I'm not really a fan of the sex industry, and generally support the Nordic Model, but I rather like Mistress Velvet.

Is there any legitimate form of sex industry?

cos beating up white men and forcing them to read black feminist theory doesnt sound all that bad to me.

Does that make me a bad feminist?

I find this very disturbing. I fail to see how beating anyone could possibly be a good thing. If they are asking to be beaten, that is a problem for which psychological help would be appropriate.

It’s an interesting twist but it’s still men paying a woman to fulfil their sexual fantasy of being submissive, so whilst she holds the physical power, they still hold the financial power.

It sounds fucking awful to me. WTF?

Not unless you like promoting the idea that people's bodies are things that can be bought, no.

If you're interpreting this as somehow empowering to women and getting one over on men I'm afraid that you've failed to grasp how both fetishes and the sex industry work. The men like it. They are the ones in control because they are the ones paying.

NcNcNcNcNcNcNc · 07/10/2019 11:38

Yeah it's weird.

She's twisting it into a positive.

But these men don't care about her or her struggles as a black woman.

If anything they are probably using her genuine attempts at getting them to see black women as equals as an even bigger turn on.
These men aren't empowered by this strong, black woman, they are using her to get their sad dicks hard in a role play that Focuses on the fact she is black and in power. It's a twisted reversal of slave ownership dremat up in a rich, white man's porn obsessed mind.

Yes white men are paying her to make their wieners hard, thinking she is a thing to fulfill their fantasies. Not sure how much black feminism they absorb from that.
If she were paying the men so she could do whatever she wanted to them, then I would call her in charge but it still wouldn't be related to feminism.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 07/10/2019 13:02

And if those same men decided tomorrow that her being in charge didn't make their dicks hard any more then she'd be out of a job.

The person paying is the one who is in charge. This is fairly basic economics.

Cailleachian · 07/10/2019 14:42

mmm....interesting.

Yeah, of course if they stop paying her then she's out of a job, but thats the same with any self-employed service worker.

I'd agree that this was a psychological problem, men who have control issues who want to explore what it feels like to not be in control...while still retaining the ultimate control of paying for it.

But I can still sympathise with her wanting to make a living out it, gotta be better than the more "traditional" form. There are also quite a lot of black women in "financial domination", where they are unpleasant to men and the men give them money in response.
