Sorry, I can't find the previous thread and search is being an arsehole.

Given Donal O'Shea's recent comments and yesterday's twittering about endocrinologists not using the wpath guidelines for gender questioning teens, I was thinking of writing to one of the broadsheet health editors (SBP) to see if she would look at this topic. What do you recommend I include? Other than sending work press releases, I don't have much contact with the media so any advice would be very helpful. Tia.

Prof. O’Shea had been offered a position on the panel but had declined, he said, because the Ministerial nominee is an advocate “who has frequently trashed our services”.

Wonder if this is anyone well known.

I think its Noah Halpin who founded the group 'This is Me' to advocate for bringing in the informed consent model to Ireland

I feel sorry for Dr. O'Shea, he seems like hes trying to do his best for vulnerable patients and when this all goes pear shaped and people are looking for someone to blame it'll be Drs like him that are sued just look at symphisotomy, that was international best practice at one point.

Write it as a press release adding links in at the end. If you do the job for them they are more likely to use it. So put the conclusions of what you are saying in the first paragraph then get into more detail as you go along. If the press have it given on a pkate like this it is easier for them to write up in their own style.

Donal O'Shea is a brilliant clinician and needs to be applauded for taking a stance. I hope he doesn't get piled on....I'm afraid I'd have to delurk as GC and stand up for what's right.
