And so it begins in Ireland. As they, shit is getting real.

TENI were one of 6 groups that one the award gcn.ie/teni-win-mna-na-heireann-award/

They were one of six groups who won the award. The six groups will get, among other things:

*Cash grants for three years.

*A place on Social Innovation Fund Ireland’s Accelerator programme which provides training from best-in-class experts across the private, not for profit and public sectors.
*Access to Social Innovation Fund Ireland’s networks.

"The Mná na hÉireann, Women of Ireland Fund www.socialinnovation.ie/mna-na-heireann-fund/ is a €1.8 million fund over three years created by Social Innovation Fund Ireland in partnership with Bank of America and the Department of Rural and Community Development. How is this trans legal organisation fulfilling that remit?

Juells · 05/10/2019 12:33

Of course they did. We must must must prove that we're the most woke country in the world.

Mylittlepony374 · 05/10/2019 12:40

I'm so upset by this.
I don't have words.
How how how are they enhancing the economic mobility of WOMEN?

Fraggling · 05/10/2019 12:48

'Increasing female labour force participation'

This org who give the award believe trans women are female?

Well if they believe that male =female then I'm not sure how they even begin to understand who to support.

Is it feminine people of both sexes?

Doyoumind · 05/10/2019 12:50

Yes, trans women probably do face discrimination - for being trans women and not for being women.

The disadvantages faced by many women in the workplace that are linked to being female e.g. sexual harassment, pregnancy, maternity, gaps in working etc are completely irrelevant to this group of people.

Charley50 · 05/10/2019 12:50

Fucking hell! And when we complain we will be called transphobic, not applauded for pointing out the fucking obvious, and not applauded for standing up for our rights.
It's as if male domination and patriarchy is a made up thing.

Who can we complain to?

Doyoumind · 05/10/2019 12:53

The annoying this is that out of all those winners, the trans group seems to have the narrowest remit. It doesn't cater for any females. And all but one of the other winners don't actually specialise supporting women.

Fraggling · 05/10/2019 13:55

So the awards have all gone to groups that will use the award to benefit men, except 1.

Great.

3timeslucky · 05/10/2019 14:02

Oh FFS. These are men masquerading as women. If the awarding organisation can't tell what a woman is then how dare they claim to be working on our behalf? Fucking marvellous.

Fraggling · 05/10/2019 14:06

They aren't their remit is to help trans women.

Note, not trans men?!

pachyderm · 05/10/2019 14:09

Oh fuck this shit I am beyond sick of it. That group is a bunch of misogynistic pricks. They hate women. HATE them.

3timeslucky · 05/10/2019 14:12

Note, not trans men?!

Of course not because that would mean biology meant something. When we all know it is language that changes reality. Call something "woman" and magically it is so. No need to even give consideration to the significance of the prefix "trans". Just ignore it.

Juells · 05/10/2019 15:36

One of the things that upset me about the whole trans schmozzle is that nowadays when I see a photo of a tall woman I start examining it really closely to see if it really is a woman Confused

zanahoria · 05/10/2019 15:43

taking the piss

Michelleoftheresistance · 05/10/2019 16:04

If allowed to continue, this will be like sport. It will go on and on until all women only categories are actually filled with male born people, (just like the men only categories). And everything will all be male. Wall to wall.

Because the biological women - who needed those categories in the first place - have given up and gone away in disgust. And everyone when they hear 'women only' or 'gender neutral' will roll their eyes because they know damn well what it actually means. Those women only categories will just end up a joke, not meaning anything to anybody because males got grabby and hate biological females.

Plus ca change.

Biological women are going to have to come up with a name and identity that is specific to them (being their authentic selves, how dare you be uterophobic) and set up from scratch everything that they fought for over the past 80 years. Again. Because of entitled, chauvinistic people born with penises.

Juells · 05/10/2019 16:40

Interesting what was re-tweeted by the Women's Council of Ireland. Hmm

Do they even think? Men front and centre, as always.

Juells · 05/10/2019 16:43

...and no, they didn't retweet any of the other winners, I checked.

Michelleoftheresistance · 05/10/2019 16:54

If there are TW contestants then realistically they are always likely to be a high priority, aren't they?

a) if your feminism doesn't centre people born male then it's naughty

b) if those people aren't centred and proven to be the most specially important and wonderful it will be called transphobia and all hell shall be unleashed.

c) no cookies involved from the patriarchy in celebrating actual cunty types. They just huff and complain about it's sexist and does down men. Somehow.

Michelleoftheresistance · 05/10/2019 16:55

oh and d) good publicity virtue signalling.

pachyderm · 05/10/2019 19:30

NWCI are a pathetic embarrassment.

pachyderm · 05/10/2019 19:34

Oh and the head of TENI had a long successful career as a man in the corporate world before he "transitioned" so what the fuck *e knows or cares about structural inequality for women in the workplace I do not know. There are enough middle aged fucking men in industry, the professions, tech, finance and politics, but no, we need to centre them even more. I'm beyond disgusted at this shitshow.

3timeslucky · 06/10/2019 11:19

and no, they didn't retweet any of the other winners, I checked

Same story with every article on anything relating to LGBT(etc) communities - a disproportionate focus is T (and the etc).

IT ran a story (last weekend?) about being LGBT in rural Ireland. A gay man (possibly two), Aoife (can't remember surname - but turns up everywhere as the representation of how fab it is for a man to "become" a woman), a lesbian who (funny enough) is planning to leave Ireland and Dan (who didn't like surnames, had a whole load of requirements about how "they" were to be addressed which required the butchering of the English language to comply, wittering on about how when they got to Dublin suddenly they'd find people who had nothing better to do than spend their time centring Dan's extra special needs. Disappointment will be following Dan for forever.

That's not a proportionate representation of the prevalence of those communities but those who are "extra special" and whose identities rely on the denial of biological science and the butchery of language always have to be represented.

pachyderm · 06/10/2019 12:35

3timeslucky yes, and the piece included 3 men and one woman.
