I couldn’t see a thread on this so I thought I’d post it for anyone who has missed it. What a powerful description of coercive control.

Listened to the six minutes of the speech (out of eight) which were broadcast on PM this evening when driving home from work. So moving, and very brave of Rosie to speak so honestly about her experience of coercive control.

I can't imagine that HoC is an easy place to disclose something so personal - thank you, Rosie, for your courage and your words of support to other women in the same situation.

There have been a number of female politicians in the last year talking about deeply personal experiences. It’s a great contrast to a lot of the childish behaviour seen recently by many politicians.

What was also interesting was that she seems such a successful and confident person. It shows that this really can happen to any woman and you never know what is going on behind closed doors.

Very brave of her to speak out like that in that environment. I hope it opens a few more ears
