Exceent to see the issue of the defunding of women's services making the mainstream press.

The article says no groups have been refused funding so far. Has anyone specifically tried to set up a single sex service or applied for funding and been refused? Or is this more of a warning that they could be refused in future if they attempted to run a single sex group?

Nonny the conditions of funding are such that an organisation can't even apply for funding if they are single sex - the application wouldn't be accepted unless it included a policy document demonstrating that males who identify as women are included.

So all the Women's Aid orgs in Scotland have been prevented from using the Equality Act exceptions.
