Harry The Owl's Judicial Review

FairCop · 22/09/2019 08:58

Good morning MNers,

Harry the Owl has his Judicial Review on 20th-21st November which will rule on the 'hate incident' of him posting 30 tweets that Humberside Police classed as 'transphobic' (one simply read "Huh").
The JR will also examine the College of Policing's guidelines on hate crimes.

So we're planning a protest/celebration in London so we can Party Like It's 1984! Grin

Fair Cop and our allies will be demonstrating outside the Royal Courts of Justice to support Harry and all the other victims of police harassment – people like Kate Scottow, Posie Parker, Caroline Farrow, Dr Julia Long, Graham Linehan and the many others who have been warned, cautioned and even arrested for gender wrongthink.

It'll be on 20th November, outside the Royal Courts of Justice, with the obligatory drinks and nibbles afterwards, with some interesting and entertaining speakers too.
(Location to be confirmed later.)

We are so much stronger when we’re together, so we hope you can join us in an event that will celebrate the spirit and resolve of our movement.

Thanks for posting FairCop! I will be there and hope to be live tweeting on the day, so we must agree a hashtag. so please do follow via Twitter on the day and it would be lovely to meet people in real life too.

I think this is so significant and important because of what it shows will happen if we don't speak up now. We cannot simply sit back and let state agencies be captured by one particular aggressive and dishonest ideology and particularly not when that state agency is the police, with the power to arrest and detain us - or have 'hate crime' recorded on our DBS.

I hope FairCop win the JR. But win or lose I hope this mobilises many people to see just how serious this is.

NotAnotherFeckingMuftiDay · 22/09/2019 09:23

Thank you for all your work so far.
I'll be there on the 20th.

Popchyk · 22/09/2019 09:29

It sounds awfully civilised. Nibbles, eh? What a menace to society you all are.

Seriously, you are doing a great thing.

Won't be able to be in London but will support in other ways.

And Spero is right, this case is going to be instrumental in waking up people to the wider implications of gender ideology. It ain't just pronouns; it is compelled speech and criminal sanctions for non-compliance. And that's just the start.

AncientLights · 22/09/2019 09:33

I intend coming to London for this. Look forward to meeting some of you.

LangCleg · 22/09/2019 09:38

I wonder if any of the 89% of MPs who disagree with misgendering being in any way a police matter will join you?!

glenthebattleostrich · 22/09/2019 09:38

Bloody hell you'll be suggesting a civilised chat over a nice cup of tea and a scone next.

Wish I could join you but I'll be at work

ThePurported · 22/09/2019 10:38

I wonder if any of the 89% of MPs who disagree with misgendering being in any way a police matter will join you?!

Is that right Lang?
I wish MPs would stop hiding on this issue, it's pathetic and irresponsible.

Spero · 22/09/2019 10:55

If anyone can come please join the Facebook group

HandsOffMyRights · 22/09/2019 10:58

Thank you. I can't make this, but will support in other ways.
Humberside Police needs to be held to account.

FairCop · 22/09/2019 20:16

What time will it be? I might be in town that day!

FairCop · 22/09/2019 20:30

I think some of us will be there for the bulk of the day, and some people might just be able to come by after work.
You're welcome whenever you can make it!

Police decide to take no action after Farage promises to 'take the knife' to civil servants.

(Not even a phonecall to check his thinking.)

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 28/09/2019 18:23

You had me at nibbles tbh...

Spero · 07/10/2019 14:48

TirisfalPumpkin · 07/10/2019 16:11

Ever considered doing merch? I would wear the shit out of a ‘party like it’s 1984’ t shirt.

Melroses · 07/10/2019 18:04

I spent a minute trying to work out what happened in 1984 that was so good Grin

Melroses · 07/10/2019 18:53

T-shirt a good idea.

Popchyk · 07/10/2019 19:05

You should all turn up as 1984 pop stars. George Michael in the tight shorts, Prince, Madonna, Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Of course you'd have to incorporate the Orwell aspect and it would have to be seamless. A nod to Kraftwerk could do it.

Even Harry who will be in court.

I can see him as Simon le Bon.

Now That's What I Call I Call Music 1984 playing in the background at the pub after.

Now 2 has some good songs from 1984. The Police were sending their message in a bottle at the time of course.

I’m in reach of London depending on my work rota, so bookmarking the thread.

Melroses · 07/10/2019 22:21

Made for you!

Spero · 08/10/2019 12:21

Merch is a fabulous idea. But I need to have a word with who is doing the sizing at current T shirt company. I ordered a Fair Cop T shirt in XL thinking I would go for the baggy look. It is however EXTREMELY body con. And I am not THAT fat.
