Saw this on Twitter.

Does Cosmo still exist?
I doubt it will for much longer.

Goosefoot · 20/09/2019 15:19

Well, it's Cosmo.

Inebriati · 20/09/2019 15:29

Lesbophobia is so on trend these days, isn't it.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 20/09/2019 15:32

When I read the article I had to scroll past an image of a woman in a black lacy basque. That seemed to say it all about Cosmo's style of feminism.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 20/09/2019 15:33

Isnt the editor a gay man these days or am I wrong there? The teen version is pretty crap too.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 20/09/2019 15:34

I skip read - what a load of crap. Male centred crap. Funny that.

youkiddingme · 20/09/2019 15:44

I'd be more interested in the 'mountains of research' if some of it were cited.
I have yet to see anyone on here say that any transperson should be denied the right to exist.
Nor have I seen many feminists on here defining women as 'only those so assigned at birth'.
Nor do I see evidence of 'violent transphobia.'
I wish opinion were given as opinion and fact given as fact, backed up by evidence.

SunsetBeetch · 20/09/2019 15:58

Not much engagement there.

What an embarrassing article.

SunsetBeetch · 20/09/2019 16:10

Oh it's already happening.

Cosmopolitan has seen the biggest circulation drop among women’s magazines so far this year. The magazine’s average circulation fell by 32 per cent year-on-year to 206,510 copies in the first six months of 2019. t.co/mMKFyLgXgF

Do young women really want to read articles that sound like they were written by angry 15 year olds?

JoyceJeffries · 20/09/2019 16:19

Nobody reads Cosmo anymore.

bettybeans · 20/09/2019 16:21

Ooft. Check out the list of Hearst's other titles. Wonder how many "terfs" they rely on for sales?

'Do young women really want to read articles that sound like they were written by angry 15 year olds?'

No more than older women do, it seems.
It's all a bit insulting to the intelligence.

TalkingintheDark · 20/09/2019 16:43

I wonder what sex “Grace Walsh” actually is?

DJLippy · 20/09/2019 16:50

Love the suggested articles below this piece

10 things yout need to know about BDM&M

How to date a transwoman

Hmm
VictoriaSpongeAndTea · 20/09/2019 16:57

Reported and blocked, shame about their other titles I rather like and (used to) buy some of those. I won't be now

FairfaxAikman · 20/09/2019 17:04

Its rather interesting that for someone who cites Twitter in their opening sentence "Grace Walsh" appears to have no (at least official) Twitter presence (as I would expect a real, live professional writer to have).
Nor does the byline link work to take you through to other articles by the same author, as is usual for media websites.

I question whether "Grace Walsh" is even real.

OhHolyJesus · 20/09/2019 17:12

God I've had enough of this, been busy with a long list of GC admin in my spare time now I have to send another complaint

www.hearst.co.uk/hearst-magazines-uk-complaints-procedure

We cannot let this pass without comment.

NotTerfNorCis · 20/09/2019 17:26

Why do they always drag in 'trans women of colour' as though race is somehow relevant to gender critical feminism?

Propertyofhood · 20/09/2019 17:33

Does anyone even read Cosmo anymore?

The comments under the tweet are heartening.

NotTerfNorCis · 20/09/2019 17:35

www.cosmopolitan.com/uk/love-sex/relationships/a28644191/straight-people-gay-bars-lgbtq/

It sounds like the author is a (female) lesbian.

ImGenderfree · 20/09/2019 18:07

Interesting how articles like these state that terfs are a minority.

And then the twitter feed shows something different

Bezalelle · 20/09/2019 18:24

Do young women really want to read articles that sound like they were written by angry 15 year olds?

This made me laugh out loud! So apt.

Bezalelle · 20/09/2019 18:29

I've filed an official complaint.
