Imagine if you will, a string of firecrackers. Each firecracker is someone peaking; and the string is about to be lit by a bunch of TRAs.

This is a joy to behold (as are the comments): www.facebook.com/SapphicSims/photos/a.375520573296268/465379287643729/?type=3&theater

Full OP for anyone who can't access the FB link (it is an open/public pace so I'm not outing anyone)

People bitching that the "TERFs/transphobes/radfems/bigots got to me" because I won't get on my knees and lick their boots anymore.
Thing is it was literally the queer theorists and trans advocates who pushed me to my limit. Listen to them long enough and at some point you're gonna snap.
For me it was their fucked up priorities when it came to predatory shits like Yaniv. But it had been brewing for a while over their sexism and homophobia. I kinda caught on when I realized that no other civil rights movement ever treated people being willing to sleep with them as the pinnacle of their liberation, or tried to shut down resources that serve other oppressed groups (see Vancouver Rape Relief)
Then realizing no other civil rights movement ever gained such huge momentum as well as the support of capitalists in such a short space of time.
Add in the lies about murder rates, suicide rates and the appropriation of violence against black people by some of the most privileged white people in the US and it's just a giant mess taking advantage of the willingness of lefty liberal types to be open minded and compassionate, as well as the fact that we've never actually been able to eradicate sexism and misogyny on the left so there was a swathe of men begging for a woke new excuse to hurl misogynistic abuse at women. This movement is characterized by a complete lack of compassion for anyone who wasn't born with a dick.

People don't listen to "TERFs" and then leave the trans community, they listen to trans advocates long enough that their brains finally switch back on. And these twits are so shortsighted and hamfisted that they try to deal with people questioning within the community by doubling down on their nonsense and trying to verbally bash them into submission.

Nobody should ever be discriminated against on the basis of their sex or presentation and I'm right here to fight that, but you can keep the rest of your sexist, homophobic and frequently racist ideology. It's so damn good to finally be out of that fucking cult.

Hello 👋🏻 nothing you’ve said here can be argued with. Sorry if you’re having a hard time from them. Love the firecrackers imagery btw

(To clarify, this is not my post nor my words. I am just copying them from the public facebook post)

so much this.

Michelleoftheresistance · 20/09/2019 09:45

It would be hard to argue that any sentence of that is untrue. Very clear, and yes, how very many people, me included, shifted into 'now hang on a minute, I'm not ok with the values here'.

MrGHardy · 20/09/2019 09:47

Are there any comments ? I can't see any.

LangCleg · 20/09/2019 09:49

This! Which oppressed group from history had this sort of backing? None.

Great to see such a post and all the comments on it.
They still are embedded in the mindset of 'people with penises' and 'people with vaginas', which is a convoluted way of saying men and women.

At least they are correctly coming to the realisation that there is a lot of homophobia, misogyny and racism in the wider transgender movement and among the self-appointed TRAs.

It's almost as if simply changing labels doesn't actually get rid of these big problems and you can't 'identify' your way out of oppression.

DickKerrLadies · 20/09/2019 10:07

I see they're still trying to 'be nice' though, by claiming that transwomen are male women and transmen female men. Hmm Whatever that means.

It's never enough though. Acceptance without exception.

NonnyMouse1337 · 20/09/2019 10:08

MrGHardy I could see the comments when I viewed the group post via Facebook rather than a browser. Seems like an open group so posts and comments are visible.

woopdedoodle · 20/09/2019 10:09

She also still thinks TWAW but just not female. So not out of the mire yet.

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 20/09/2019 10:14

Yes, but they're far from alone in that. You often hear people try to distinguish 'genuine trans' from the more extreme activists. That's true on here, on Kiwi Farms, pretty much everywhere.

It seems to take longer for people to fully realise the whole thing is nonsense. there are no male 'women' or female 'men'. There are just women and men, a small minority of whom suffer extreme discomfort over the reality of their sex and, in the case of men, a larger small minority of whom get a sexual thrill from pretending to be the opposite sex.

You can feel sorry for those who experience discomfort with their sexed body without playing pretend about reality.

NonnyMouse1337 · 20/09/2019 10:16

DickKerrLadies baby steps I guess. I used to see it all the time back when I was a wet-behind-the-ears atheist and read things by religious folk who were starting to have doubts about their organisations and beliefs. They couldn't completely shake off all the conditioned language in one go, but were still raising significant questions and critiques and challenging the orthodoxy. When you've been immersed in a belief system for a significant period, (and the transgenderism movement is a belief system with political power), then it takes a while to disentangle your mindset from it completely.

When I abandoned being a Jehovah's witness, I still wanted to believe in god on some level. Took a bit to realise that actually all the religions were the same rehashed shite with variations and maybe being an atheist was no bad thing.
Hopefully most of the women in that groups will make that final leap and realise they don't have to tiptoe around such concepts anymore.

NonnyMouse1337 · 20/09/2019 10:17

Well said ArnoldWhatshisknickers.

True. I was brought up catholic (although never really got it) and despite many years of atheism-ish I still ask St. Anthony for help if I lose things!

Generally, I went along with his new reality because it pained him every time someone pointed out what wasn’t real.

But then he tried to attack a support worker because he felt threatened, and suddenly, it didn’t seem completely logical to play pretend anymore.

That's interesting. I wonder if people's comfort level with 'going along with delusions' is somewhat dependent on personal experience?

VictoriaSpongeAndTea · 20/09/2019 12:33

that's cheered me up today Grin

Mermoose · 20/09/2019 13:53

It was listening to TRAs that changed my mind too. The first doubt I had was watching a video about 'How to be a good ally to trans people'. Ironically I only saw it when it was shared by a libfem who told me off the other day on Twitter for being a bigot. I did feel like telling her that it was all her fault.

Qcng · 20/09/2019 15:24

I think a lot of them just sat that to avoid the name-calling and death/rape threats but deep down she probably doesn't believe it at all.
