Trans / MRA connections?

I think the Telegraph’s middle aged AGP columnist - David Thomas of the budding breasts- used to be active in men’s rights.

Are there any other prominent transwomen, in the UK or elsewhere, of whom this is true?

They all are

zebrasdontwearbras · 16/09/2019 20:49

Yup - MRA has morphed into TRA.

Blair White is a prominent transwoman of whom this is true. As is Paris Lees. Both of whom casually deny most cornerstones of feminist theories about the oppression of women.

Paris Lees, for example, compared women being afraid of male violence, to a fear of escalators. And wrote some shitty article about sex which is pretty grim.

Here's Blair White's contribution to Men's Rights Activism.

Echoing others, I have come to realise that TRAs are simply MRAs trying to use a different language to get what they want.

zebrasdontwearbras · 16/09/2019 21:04

"Women do it too" is a central argument of MRAs -always has been.

You don't have to look very far on twitter to find transwomen sharing pictures of Myra Hindley as the justification that males should be allowed into female only spaces. Because one woman committed heinous crimes in the 1960s (in partnership with a psychopathic man, I might add), apparently negates the fact that 98% of sexual offences are committed by males. Hmm

They must be laughing their socks off that male sexual and violent crime is now being recorded under the female crime statistics now, if the ale perpetrator "identifies as a woman".

In that video, Blair White says women in abusive relationships are culpable.

Any slight respect I had for Blair White.... gone.

There's that Charlotte Clymer.

OrchidInTheSun · 16/09/2019 22:11

Charlotte Clymer. Lily Madigan.

The Flying Lawyer with the assault conviction.

zebrasdontwearbras · 16/09/2019 22:44

Several of those already mentioned have described liking being wolf-whistled and cat-called. Because it validates them as women. This is the most profoundly MRA thing - that women are valued for their sexual attractiveness by men.

Whereas most women, who have grown up as girls, and probably experienced this sort of street harassment from the age of 12 or 13, hate it.

scotsheather · 16/09/2019 23:45

TRA = MRA in a frock.

Qcng · 17/09/2019 01:47

All TRAs are MRAs. Trans ideology is a men's demands movement.

WhereYouLeftIt · 17/09/2019 01:58

Came across this image some time ago, I thought it summed it up perfectly.

There's a crossover with Incels too.

bd67th · 17/09/2019 09:30

There's a crossover with Incels too.

The whole of the manosphere is reflected in the tranosphere.

MPAs = TPAs (Can we not call them "rights activists"? It's privilege and the removal of women's rights that they want.)
Incels = trancels, who call lesbians transphobic for refusing penis.
"Pick up artists" aka men training each other in rape techniques = trans telling each other "you don't have to tell them you're trans" and otherwise training each other how to correctively rape lesbians.

The therapists in this article, with some digging around, are of significant relevance to this thread.

Although neither article mentions trans issues the issues covered are highly relevant

I fell down the red pill/blue pill rabbit hole several years ago. I didn't understand why someone reacted very strongly to the word friendzone and wanted to understand why they had such a negative reaction.

I was quite stunned when I started reading Pro trans tweets and could see posts that were straight out of the MRAs play book.

The only difference is they were using TERF instead of Feminazi but they were being applauded instead of condemned by "lefties"

It was quite obvious that a whole load of MRAS jumped onto the trans movement because they could insult and threaten women and be the "good guys"

DJLippy that's a great comparison.
