I'll join you (all) in solidarity. I've been lurking about quietly nodding/raging/seething on the feminism boards for a while. I may have gone a teeny tiny GC rant to my best friend and her wife a while back when I was drunk. I'm still not entirely sure what they think about it . I have a local friend with whom I share GC views and we can chat about issues.

I certainly feel like I need to be braver and more mobilised!

As part of their training they have been taught that they must never assume anyone's gender. Toilets are the issue of the day!
I bet she can pretty accurately assume someone’s sex though. As toilets are segregated by sex she won’t have a problem.

At work it's time for the annual "check that your personal information is up to date on the HR system" exercise.

Had a quick look and (no surprise) there is no option for sex, only gender.

Currently deciding whether to choose the option of "Undeclared", or self-define an "Other" gender as "Irrelevant".,....

Well I did it. Changed my gender to "undeclared" and added the comment "my sex is female."

Currently waiting for my update to be approved!

I agree. I think a lot of trans people are in a massive state of incongruence. It's controversial, but if you're born a male, you always will be male even if the hosepipe is mutilated. If you are born female you'll always be female.
I find the non-binary thing ridiculous. Can I identify as a pillow and spend the day in bed?

I may have had a bit of a rant on a COOP survey on sanpro products.

It kept asking questions with answer boxes for ‘not relevant’ (or never had/not currently having periods). They also put an open text box under gender (and a few possible tick box options).

Now I assume there are some women who have never had/never will have a period for some reason (so why would they bother complete a survey on sanpro products?).

My HR system update is now approved. I'm officially "undeclared" as to gender
