Why can’t I point out the difference between sex and gender?

Had a thread deleted earlier because I said that a baby doesn’t have a gender it has a sex.

It’s the conflation of sex with gender that has led to the grotesque stereotypes we see today that desperately need unpicking.

Language matters @MNHQ

It is stereotyping that is instilled by others the second a baby’s sex is announced, so I’m not sure that to say a baby isn’t subject to that bias and stereotypeing would be correct, the baby could therefore be considered a gendered individual.

Depressing.

Very Empress, we live in a gendered society and until we recognise that it’s so much more than colours, toys and jobs we really stand little chance of doing anything meaningful to change it.

And the more powerful the trans lobby gets, the longer it will take for that to happen.
