Talking to our local MP en masse

If I could convince my local MP, Matthew Offord to talk to a group of gender critical women, would anyone in my area be up for it?

Maybe this is something we could do nationwide?

Unfortunately my MP is Stella Creasey. Good idea for other people though.

Where is your area OP?

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 08/09/2019 09:09

Yes I would be depending on where your area is

I'm in Barnet.

I would be interested in this. I'm next door in F&GG where we have Mike Freer, former P*nk News MP of the year. Unfortunately self-ID is way down on local priority lists after Brexit, austerity, the disaster that is 'Easycouncil' and antisemitism. It would be good to have some support to get this on the radar.

(BTW, I am not a new poster, I've been a mner for 10 years, mostly lurking, sometimes posting and on FWR since the days of Dittany et al)

My MP offered to speak to a group of constituents en masse. I was pleased, but unfortunately she turned out to be not particularly well informed on the subject of gender ideology and didn't seem to be taking any of our points on board. I don't think we made much of an impression on her, and I left feeling even less comfortable about voting for her than I had been before.

Still, drip drip drip. Maybe it might lead to her mentioning that encounter to another MP and a tentative discussion could ensue. We have to keep trying.

Sounds like a good idea. I’m not in Barnet though.

I’ve written to my MP but not heard anything back. Everyone’s busy with Brexit. I think my mp is probably woke but intelligent?

Matthew Offord is MP for Hendon.
Teresa Villiers is MP for Barnet.

Mike Freer is a hard working bloke and you cannot take Pnk News endorsement against him (this was back in the day when Pnk News stood up for gay rights rather than straight male fetishist rights)

Sorry, I've not been feeling too good.

Matthew Offord admitted he was unaware of the issues when I made an appointment to speak with him, however he did some research and we had a positive conversation.

I believe that if a group of his constituents spoke with him, it would help us.

For example, he was shocked at no risk assessments being done in 'council' leisure centres, now run by GLL and he is approaching them.

On the back of that, I just felt we could mobilise and approach our MP's en masse. A few voices are better than a lone voice.

For those of you who live in Barnet (the borough) I am happy to join you in speaking to your MP.

Sorry, I forgot to say, yes Brexit is top of the agenda, let's get women and girls rights on their agenda too.
