Was excited my Dd chose this book. But 3 pages in I am annoyed. It’s supposed to help teenage girls but feels like it’s about men, again. AIBU?

If there were some way of describing and grouping them, then we could perhaps do something about the challenges and prejudice they face- like we do with gay men.

How can you write a book about sexism if you can’t segregate by sex for the purposes of the book?

I was given this book (I know, I know, I’m 37!!) and I chucked it in the bin.

Read a blurb about this a couple of years back and bought it for my niece as an antidote to her stereotyping extended family.

‘People who are attracted to men’ are women? Homophobic much?! I imagine finding out they’re actually would come as something of a a shock to every gay man ever.

Saw her speak and she was great until she mentioned how transwomen have been hassled in women’s toilets.

Was Everyday Sexism full of this nonsense?

Why isn't her book called 'young people with vaginas whose gender identity matches their sex up' then?
