Magdalen is as well as you can be in her situation...surrounded by loved ones, smoking and eating as many chocolates as she wants. We had a nice meal and got gently pissed. She has some trouble with communicating but for the most part she’s as sharp as ever.

I asked her if there was anything she wanted passing on and it was always a variation on “be brave”. She doesn’t understand why people are so afraid. “This is hard,” she said, meaning, her cancer, dying. “Speaking out isn’t hard, compared to this.”

So there you go. Be brave.

I love the sketch of her. Incredible. It shows who she is to a T.

I was rewatching her videos earlier in the week. She is an absolute legend.

She grabbed me right by the fucking heart. She gave me a fabulous prodding, made me realize there were things I knew but was afraid to even think, let alone say, for fear of being a meanie. As if lying to myself and others was nicer than telling the truth. I'll miss her so much. I hope she knows how many of us she touched and gave strength to.

I’m going to church this Sunday and will pray for her (and her loved ones) comfort, peace and happiness during this difficult time.

2 years ago she ‘woke’ me up, and made me realise we don’t have to take any shit from people with their own agenda.

She is beautiful, wise, funny, and fiercely intelligent. I only wish that she understands what an impact she has made on the lives of so many women.
