Apologies if this has already been posted. It’s from a couple of weeks ago so I hope the share token still works. I thought it was a great, though horrifying, article and articulates what a lot of people talk about on here.

Agree XXstatic

@SirVixofVixHall I 100% agree - I am of a similar vintage and background and I am thus appalled by how society is going for young women. I too sometimes wonder if women of an earlier generation had it easier (obviously not with a lot of issues but yes with many others). I think men have used feminism to take all they wanted from it and ignore the rest - so yes to contraception so women are more available, yes to abortion so there is no worry to every have kids, yes to surrogacy so I can have a child without even having to form any lasting relationship with a woman; yes to porn (liberal feminism) to get my kicks; yes to transgenderism to freak out those awful lesbians; yes to kink; yes to cohabitation - I can walk away cost free when she gets too old;

etc etc,

No to any pay equality and no to any increased share of housework or childcare.

As to the mainstreaming of what I think of as sado-masochistic practices, well, look at the case in Ireland of the murder of that poor woman to see how well those relationships end.

XXcstatic, that's exactly it.

Yes Annasgirl I absolutely agree.
My dds are 12 and 14, I feel I am sending them forwards into a world that hates women.

That point you made re organised religion and more structured societies is am interesting one. I have been having just that conversation with DH this week. He was listening to an episode of the radio programme. “In Our Time”, “the Great Disruption” the Israeli writer Amos Oz was saying how in his experience humans do best living in a structured, smallish community where they then feel pride or shame depending on their actions.

My DSS and I were talking about sex and the effect of pornography recently. I mentioned choking and how abhorrent it is. He told me that several young women had moved his hands to around their throats during sex. He didn't, and wouldn't, participate in any choking activity. It shows how such extreme and dangerous behaviour has been normalised to the extent that young women think that it should be part of a normal sexual relationship.

It's a terrifying world for our daughters
