Anyone listening, I’m supposed to be nipping to the shop but now stuck in the car listening.

My case is with the CPS, I’ve had to fight to even get it there. Listening to this makes me think I really should drop the entire thing.

You survive and get out alive
You get past the police.
Get past the CPS
Get through the horrific cross examination (listening I hadn’t realised how awful it will be if I get there Sad)
And then the jury believes rape myths and acquits anyway.

What’s the point?

The desperate hope that you might be one of the rare women who are believed and your rapist is punished with more than a slap on the hand.

What happened with the Scottish dental trainee? Did they review his laughable non-sentencing?

It’s unlikely, but I have such a heightened sense of right and wrong I’m going to take the damage of following it as far as it goes I guess.

Not sure on that bit I think I missed it.

The filtering of jurors seems fairest to me?

In my case the police did a shite job of collecting evidence (didn’t even take my undies for testing-let alone test the room/bedding or check for the witnesses I told them about-I did leave it 3 months before reporting) and even tho it was two of us saying the same thing within 3 months of each other (didn’t have any connections to each other) they took it to court, (after messing us about a month before the date, kept changing the location, didn’t give any support in the court, didn’t even give me a screen) put us through hell when we got in there (kept dragging up parts of my past which where not part of the case at all) and he got off with it (they didn’t even phone to tell me-i happened to ring them to ask-they kept putting me off and they told me via text a week after the verdict)
I really think that his new girlfriend sitting there smirking at me put him in a position of ‘look!i have a girlfriend!i can’t be that evil!’ for the jury
For me it was knowing it’s now on file somewhere and he had better be watching over his shoulder for the rest of his life
He puts a toe out of line with a girl and he’ll be back and hopefully found guilty-I made it clear that if needed I’d be ‘happy’ to stand up in court again-if and when that time comes I honestly don’t think I could but I’ll deal with it if it happens
