Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Twitter and the #waronwomen news thread

As we all know, Twitter does not think much of women.

Sex is not one of its protected characteristics (it pretends it is by using gender instead but hate towards women is rarely punished on its platform).

Women are regularly banned for expressing views related to the neo religion of gender identity or for expressing biological fact. Sam Barber keeps a (lengthy) running list of such women:

And the hashtag #waronwomen is an eye-opener.

So, much like the This Never Happens thread, I wondered if it would be worth collating examples of Twitter's misogyny and actions women are taking about it.

To kick us off, Louise Moody has created a petition. We're not allowed to link to it on FWR but you can find details on the petitions board here:

Feel free to discuss and/or add other news in the Twitter #waronwomen front!

Great idea OP, I’m not on Twitter myself but go and look now and then so will keep an eye out.

I'll add, Rachel McKinnon celebrating a feminist's terminal illness.

McKinnon's glee at their close proximity making a woman uncomfortable - 'on purpose'.
