I think this is a brave young woman, hope she doesn't get too much abuse for it. The track seems to sum up the GC position.

Brilliant, and very brave.

TurboTeddy · 21/08/2019 22:32

Only one negative comment that I could see. A gendered insult about her appearance, from a man, the women commenting soon put him straight.

It''s not the only T**F rap out there.

Loved it. Fabulous woman.

zebrasdontwearbras · 21/08/2019 23:51

She's cool. It's like a mumsnet thread made into a rap Grin

2BthatUnnoticed · 22/08/2019 01:28

Love it, she’s brilliant 💜💚

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 23/08/2019 06:47

Wow, she is fabulous!

NotTerfNorCis · 23/08/2019 08:03

That's stuck in my head now. :)

TERF is a slur. TERF is a slur. TERF is a slur is a slur is a slur.

DotOnTheHorizon · 23/08/2019 08:20

Pretty much agree with the sentiments and she's a brave woman as I'm sure this will attract negative press.

However, what distracts from the important message is the fact she raps (at least twice) "you ugly. You a man" (around 1:20 for the first time). Resorting to insults is playing into the hands of TRA's and their supporters. We should rise above that and let facts speak for them self.

@NottonightJosepheen - the ugly part mostly, a person's nature by virtue of their actions can be ugly, but describing a person as ugly says more about the person saying it.

I'm also not overly comfortable with the "you a man". I don't know if to take the two statements separately- is she just stating facts? Or is she saying that the person is ugly because they are a man or is the inference that they are ugly as they are a man identifying as a woman.

Just seems to take away from her message.

DotOnTheHorizon · 23/08/2019 10:25

@NottonightJosepheen I have no desire for her to moderate her language. I believe (somewhat naively) that insults, whoever they are aimed at, are uncalled for and lose the moral high ground.

Yes, TERF is a slur but but hitting back by describing TRA's and their supporters "ugly" us reducing her powerful message to that of the tit for tat you find in the playground.

zen1 · 23/08/2019 10:32

She’s good!

Wow she's brilliant, I can see her getting a lot of problems from mainstream media though because of her stance. Great woman for doing it though! Only dicks would argue against her...pardon the pun.

2BthatUnnoticed · 23/08/2019 11:49

I thought that was a reference to TRAs telling us that we are ugly and men! Grin Which they do by implication, regularly.

Agreed - I support her either way. Great work although it’s stuck in my head now 😬

That's how I interpreted it. I wondered if it's an insult Grace has had directed at her. I really admire her courage. I think that rap is beautifully constructed and encompasses all the main GC concerns. I'm really heartened to see younger voices speaking up. Good luck to her.
