I got recommended this book on a thread and my goodness is it so poignant. I felt it truly touched on not only the dangerous position we find ourselves in in our society, but also how dangerous not trusting our intuition is.

Each and every situation and approach described was relatable.

This post could be in relationships, mental health and a number of other subjects. I felt feminism was a good place though.

Please share other books that you feel really support, explain, help understand and give cooing strategies for those who have in essence, been victim of societies expectations.

Oh this is a MUST read, not just for women, also his follow up Protecting the Gift if Fear.
I regularly give copies to people as an advocate gift, I just feel that strongly about spreading his advice.

Just started “if women rose rooted” hoping for good things from that one too👍

Completely agree.

I think it's an excellent read for a man. To see why a womanmay feel uncomfortable makes him more likely to be respectful of that discomfort.

Ooh, 'If Women rose rooted' is on my wishlist.

And 'gift of fear', too.

I recommend 'The Descent of Woman' for a different focus on evolutionary theory, based on the mother/child dyad.

Lundy Bancroft's Why Does He Do That.

Changed my life.

Invisible Women is excellent, scales fall from eyes excellent and the skill that has gone into presenting that data is incredible.

I am ALWAYS reccomending this book, along with Predators by Anna Salter.

I just tried to find this book on iBooks. The only ones available were analysis of the book unless I purchased the audio book for $39.99 I don't purchase audio books, I think they're a rip off. Will keep my eye out for the paperback, which I'm reluctant to do because I have too many physical books (hundreds more on iBooks) but it does sound like a must read.

DanaPhoenix If you have a PC you can download software to read an epub, mobi or PDF for free.
You can also get conversion software, Calibre is free and will convert any format to any other format.

Thanks for the advice inebriati will definitely follow it.

TheInebriati · 23/08/2019 13:43

If you have any trouble working out how to use the software I'll try to come back with screenshots later on. Once you have it figured out its really easy, you just click a few buttons. It does sometimes mess with the formatting though.

Thank you I should explain I won't be doing this immediately. Internet has been sketchy here, working ok atm. I'm about to go overseas for a month but will try this on my return. I'm book marking this post to come back to.
