Just saw this and thought some people here would be interested. It's sad news but it sounds like Magdalen is being well supported.

Wholly inadequate for Magdalen, her family and friends and a heart felt thank you for your strength, courage and hard work in highlighting the issues of trans ideology and its impact on women's rights.

Like all of us, I'm devastated. She said it was terminal but like most of us, I'd hoped she'd have more time. More time to share her brilliance. More time to stand up for lesbians. More time to be honest, blunt, funny, and give zero fucks for the policing of women's voices & words. She opened my eyes & ears & I'll always be grateful & I'll always remember her brilliant, witty, take no shit realism.

I hope she will be comforted by the thousands of women from all corners of world thankful for her ability to cut through the pomo word salads so we all saw what she did.

Sadly not. One of the Forwomenscot posters confirmed the news is not great. They would not have gone public with this if there was a chance.
I dream of a miracle here but it is not going to happen.

Yes, I do appreciate that the memorials are meant to be kind. I'm sure that nobody posting them means any harm. It just feels too soon.

To some extent I agree and I expect her closest will be chosing what they share with her carefully.
But she never struck me as someone to shy away from the inevitable.
The original tweet said that Magdalen wanted to go public. The reaction is surely a surprise to no one.

There is no point in pretending that what is happening isn't happening, and then waiting until she has gone to thank her for all she has done.

TerfTalk I understand, I really do and despite knowing better had hoped for much more positive news as well.

This update was shared with the public today so that Magdalen may have the chance to hear just how much she means to so many people. How many women love her for giving them the courage to stand up and say no to transgender ideology and legislation.

Hear it now, when it can give her comfort and maybe a little extra strength in the time she has left.

And she has, in a way, already defied the cruellest odds. It's been 28 months since her diagnosis. Median survival is 10 to 15 months. That is the heartbreaking reality for glioblastoma patients and their loved ones.

She was the first (and brightest and still in my opinion the best) rad fem voice I heard that cut through all the academic BS and was able to just say it like it is and resonate SO strongly. Im an old, grey straight feminist who didn’t come over from the lib gem dick head side until the last 3 or 4 years. This wonderful young woman turned me.

Otepoti and I can only reiterate what everyone has said. Magdalen is an inspiration. I don't think it is insensitive to let her know just how much she is appreciated and will always be so to women around the world.

TerfTalk the doctors have stopped the treatment and put her on palliative care. She can no longer read or respond to messages. Unless you believe in serious miracles, she will not recover. I don’t know if you know anything about glioblastoma but people don’t ‘pull through’ when the treatment has stopped working. And I fully agree with others- this way Magdalen can at least be told how much she meant to them. What’s the point of heartfelt eulogies if you didn’t tell the person what you felt before they died? This way it has real meaning for her.

Oh, Magdalen.

You have made SUCH a difference. You’ve been the role model that young lesbians needed - and through video you will continue to do so.

My usual mantra in these matters is ‘Be More Nana’, (as in, point out the PoMo bollocks and chase perverts away from the doorstep with a broom) but if I were a younger and cooler person, I would definitely be aiming to Be More Magdalen instead.

Thank you for bringing proper, non compromising, non-dick-pandering feminism to a whole new audience, because of you there are thousands of women ready and waiting to take up your anti-wang baton.
