Just saw this and thought some people here would be interested. It's sad news but it sounds like Magdalen is being well supported.

Wholly inadequate Flowers for Magdalen, her family and friends and a heart felt thank you for your strength, courage and hard work in highlighting the issues of trans ideology and its impact on women's rights.

Believe me, I do. Not so much colleagues as you don’t know who you can trust. Friends and family, yes. Have peak transed numerous people.

I saw a film about protests in the 20th century recently. It started with a suffragette march. Loads of the women were carrying arrows on sticks. This indicated they had been in prison. That's brave.

I agree, just raise the subject whenever you can. It's so obvious most people seem to just agree with me. And even a gay friend of mine who is very active supporting trans people agreed with most of what I said (that hormones and surgery should be a last resort).

Some unions are supporting gender critical females! ( screenshot taken from a Twitter account which the woman had to delete due to online harassment I believe ) this tweet was taken down. I’ve edited out everything around the edges.

I’m sure that was purely for ‘men men’ as opposed to ‘man, I feel like a woman’ men.

Pota2 · 29/08/2019 20:18

Not the unions that my employer recognises. There’s no point in being in a union that isn’t recognised because they won’t be of much assistance in issues such as redundancies and pensions disputes. My union is the Universities and Colleges Union and its current leader tried to get Dr Louise Moody fired for ‘transphobia’ against Lily Madigan.

wacademia · 30/08/2019 02:30

My union is the Universities and Colleges Union

They've been as useful as a wax teapot for a long time. Trying to get Dr Moody fired is a new low even for them.

And for those not on Twitter:

"Heading home. Magdalen is as well as you can be in her situation...surrounded by loved ones, smoking and eating as many chocolates as she wants. We had a nice meal and got gently pissed. She has some trouble with communicating but for the most part she’s as sharp as ever.
I asked her if there was anything she wanted passing on and it was always a variation on “be brave”. She doesn’t understand why people are so afraid. “This is hard,” she said, meaning, her cancer, dying. “Speaking out isn’t hard, compared to this.” "

So there you go. Be brave.

SirVixofVixHall · 04/09/2019 17:57

That has made me cry. I keep thinking of what she would have achieved, given more time. Half a century more time. 😢😢😢

Treaclebee · 04/09/2019 18:04

“This is hard,” she said, meaning, her cancer, dying. “Speaking out isn’t hard, compared to this.” "
She's totally right. Again.

Lots of love to you Magdalen.

NotTerfNorCis · 04/09/2019 18:07

That is such a moving post from Glinner.

Ereshkigal · 04/09/2019 18:08

Heartbreaking.

TerfTalk · 04/09/2019 18:09

Glimmer is an excellent writer.

MrsSnippyPants · 04/09/2019 18:10

Me too SirVix Sad

jellyfrizz · 04/09/2019 18:31

Much love Magdelen. Thank you for being brave.

failingatlife · 04/09/2019 18:51

I hope Magdalen's legacy is to inspire us all to be as brave as herFlowers❤️❤️

testing987654321 · 04/09/2019 19:06

I love this video. I told my boss about it the other day, the bit where she gets the audience to repeat "lesbians don't have penises".

morningtoncrescent62 · 04/09/2019 19:29

What a brilliant video, testing, it's not one I've seen before. I wish I'd woken up to all of this in time to have been in the audience.

Floomph · 04/09/2019 19:53

I'm late to posting on this but I'm heartbroken for Magdalen.

If messages are still being passed onto her I'd want her to know how much I'm thinking of her and how inspired I've been by her. Magdalen you are wonder woman and if I could change what's happening, I would. I am holding you close to my heart despite the fact we're strangers. Thank you for your wonderful work and you enjoy your chocolates.

testing987654321 · 04/09/2019 20:04

It's lovely isn't it? I love the way that she interrupts herself repeatedly.

The Julie Bindel speech from the same meeting is great too.

I really hope Magdalen realises how important she has been as an inspiration to others.

AnonymousIsAWoman · 04/09/2019 20:19

I’ve been showing Magdalen’s videos to my very Catholic mother. She wanted to pray for her, I wasn’t sure if Magdalen would really be into that, so instead she settled for a Dave Allen quote, ‘Goodnight, thank you, and may your God go with you.’ We will miss you Magdalen.

OrchidInTheSun · 04/09/2019 20:23

This is a lovely article from Madeleine Kearns

S1naidSucks · 04/09/2019 20:47

That is a brilliant piece. Isn’t it weird that I’m crying for someone I’ve never met, yet they’ve had a massive influence on my confidence to support women and defend them against pretenders.

GirlDownUnder · 04/09/2019 23:40

I hope Magdalen’s proud of the legacy she’s created. She is a legend in her own lifetime, and of her own making.

Brave, and fierce, and bright - detractors (we know who they are) are jealous of the light she shines and would steal some for themselves to try light their own dark places.

BeMoreMagdalen · 04/09/2019 23:58

See my nickname. She is my patron saint. Absolutely fucking warrior woman. May we all rise up with her fire.
