Someone gave me the link to this project thinking I might be interested.

It is funded by the Wellcome Trust (which "exists to improve health by helping great ideas to thrive"). I think they have quite a lot of influence.

So guess what I find in the first paragraph????

The project 'Body, Self and Family: Women's Psychological, Emotional and Bodily Health in Britain, c. 1960-1990' is funded by the Wellcome Trust. It aims to create an intersectional history of gender, body and the self from bottom-up rather than the top-down.

As later on they mention women's reproductive function in what way is gender relevant.

It's like the poison just keeps spreading and is now institutinalised. Bad enough the ERSC social policy funding but now also health policy funding is seeking to embed gender.

It is a historical project - I think it is reasonable in so far as gender means social constructs and norms of femininity and expectations of being female - but would need to be sex, gender, body and self to be accurate. The project itself looks very interesting.
