Well, I've listened to a couple of her pieces and she is very good (if I ignore the mannerisms). I particularly like her interview with Benjamin Boyce - I have a crush on both of them after that.

She's very down to earth and quite reflective, with a good sense of self-knowledge (unlike some TRAs we could mention) - suggests that getting her dysphoria sorted was part of achieving maturity.

So thanks for linking to her - great to see someone with a different POV (she's a conservative Republican ffs) who doesn't make me want to throw things.

As long as no one makes me attempt to perform that, I'm not bothered.

I guess, two things:

Constant preening behaviour comes across to me as vain and shallow. If people want to be like that that's their loss (or gain if they make a career out of it) but not something I want to watch. Perhaps I should follow OhTheHills' example and turn the picture off.

But also in this case Blaire seemed to me (and I admit I may not have listened to enough of their views) to be claiming they have something in common with me/womanhood because of their flirty mannerisms, for example in the Benjamin Boyce interview. I find that quite insulting to women.

It is refreshing having someone that isn't totally illogical, out of touch with reality or outright abusive. But I still think they've got it very wrong about what womanhood is, and in that area are on at least as sketchy ground as Yaniv. Maybe even more sketchy, "because I say I am" is at least consistent, "meaningful transition" is undefinable. I hope I'm wrong, honestly, the more rational trans advocates the better.

I didn't get that, to be honest. He was saying that all the surgery was needed to make him look that way because he is Male, and men don't look like that. He didn't say all women should look like that.

I think I'd rather be vain and shallow than as judgemental as you. Actually if you'd met me when I was Blaire's age you'd probably have said I was vain and shallow too.

I've just been watching one of her videos about detransitioners. She didn't sound remotely vain and shallow.

I like her.

I'm still trying to square the no surgery (which I agree with) with using women's bathrooms. I go around in my head a bit there.

Everything else she's said so far that I've seen is bang on, except for some stuff about gender roles being good for kids in the trans kids film - the rest was great; just didn't get that little bit.

She uses female loos but only after she thought she would pass. She doesn't use female changing rooms.

Does anyone know Blairs thoughts on using additional 3rd spaces, toilets etc?
Looking the way Blair does id imagine going in the gents would be a bit tricky, but i dont think they should be in the ladies. If they were happy to go in 3rd spaces for trans or unisex and campaigned for that, I would support them.

I am happy with a man presenting this way and calling themself a man still - good on them. A lot of people have cosmetic surgery to look a particular way, a lot wear make up... its not my bag but if it is yours go for it. Women now have a lot more choice in appearance, men should have more choice also.
