They've been awful for a while and I know this an opinion piece, but this is particularly bad.
The twitter headline appears to be different so not sure if they amended it. Pure and unapologetic misogyny.

I used to read the paper every day as a student. The website is just click bait bullshit.

The article is the usual tissue of lies, including fake suicide stats and the nonsense that we are debating trans “right to exist”.
None of us object to their existence, we just don’t want them and their penises in our sex segregated sports, changing rooms, refuges, prisons etc.

The sooner the web version closes, the better. They don't acknowledge IPSO and so the only way you can get a lie removed or corrected is through legal action.

And they lie all the time, especially about risks to women's safety.

Surely every serious journalist and editor knows that 'terf' is an insult.

TBF, it is an opinion piece. But they're BVU to let that word though.

That's it. I dont think a racist or actual transphobic slur would get through unchallenged in an opinion piece.
The fact that this one is used and in the title promoting it on twitter, says everything about the Independents attitude to women.

It is a shame. They were a great newspaper 10 years ago. Nowadays, I genuinely have more respect for the Daily Mail! At least the DM is fair to both parties.
