Questioning LGBT education-British parent deeply concerned that LGBT in schools has gone way beyond "a book with 2 mums" and into indoctrination. Doing the useless media's job for them.

They post some interesting stuff-about how normalised kink is at Pride etc.

There's also some odd statements about how children "become" gay.

AbsintheFriends · 31/07/2019 16:24

I don't follow but had a look at their account earlier as I saw that the username was trending. The hashtag revealed lots of people frothing about homophobia whilst entirely missing - or totally not addressing - any of the (apparently sensible - I didn't read too closely I must confess) points raised.

I also saw a lot of outrage directed at an american sleb who has passed me by, who has apparently had the temerity to say he doesn't think it's a good idea for parents to advocate transition for 3 year olds. Blood is being bayed for.

Standard day on twitter.

People are raising the issue of homophobia because the account is pre-emptively blocking anyone who identifies as gay or they think does. They’ve done it using a script.

It happened to my friend - he hadn’t even interacted with them.

Plus they tweet untrue and homophobic stuff.

Well, that was an interesting afternoon down twitterland. The DMs are Shock

Iminthewrongstory · 31/07/2019 16:43

I first heard of it when so many people I follow on twitter said they were blocked by it. Had a quick skim - didn't like the tenor of it. Some of the best teachers I worked with were gay, so the anti-gay tenor seemed wrong and icky and misleading. Also intrusive stuff like tracking down gay teachers' social media photos and sharing them on twitter. A bit yuk.

happydappy2 · 31/07/2019 17:06

That is not a good look.....didn't know that-perhaps with so many things, there are aspects I agree with and aspects I don't.

Nasty account. I put them in the same bin as the Tommy Robinson supporters who try to latch on to GC causes.

BustedWench · 31/07/2019 18:02

It is not an account I would personally follow. Made me uneasy and blocking people before interaction is poor, and shaming gay teachers, nope, appalling

I am not convinced that some of those photos would stand up to a school's SM guidelines, though.
Perhaps a PM to the teacher concerned would have been a better option.
