I am not from Nottingham but here is an an address for Notthingham Women's Centre. Hopefully they are open, it says they are. If you go there they will probably be able to advise you.

www.nottinghamwomenscentre.com/contact/

You could also ask the librarian for help, they will probably know some local resources. I wish you good luck.

allmywhat · 31/07/2019 12:57

Fuck. I don't know what was happening here but it was upsetting.

sakura184 · 31/07/2019 13:24

Jesus. I'm so sorry.
I hope the women's centre can help

AnotherLass · 31/07/2019 13:40

The Citizens Advice Bureau is another place that you could try if no joy at the Women's Centre.

Citizens Advice Nottingham is 16-18 Maid Marian Way, Nottingham NG1 6HS. They're open today until 4 pm.

maryjo4 · 31/07/2019 17:26

Would check the women's centre
I have been to citizens advice several times they pretend it's my problem

OP posts:
maryjo4 · 31/07/2019 17:28

Have not seen or heard from them in ages, they ignore that fact. Night time isn't fun

OP posts:
maryjo4 · 31/07/2019 17:31

Have just checked women's centre, there's one on 30 Chaucer street. Would go there tomorrow and feedback.

OP posts:
maryjo4 · 31/07/2019 17:33

AnyOldPrion · 31/07/2019 17:54

Good luck OP. I had to contact my local shelter recently and they were fabulous. Hope you get the help you need.

Gingerkittykat · 31/07/2019 18:13

Have you had proper legal advice? Can you see a solicitor ASAP?

stumbledin · 31/07/2019 18:34

There is a Law Centre in Nottingham who maybe able to help you:
Nottingham Law Centre
119 Radford Road
Hyson Green
Nottingham
NG7 5DU

Telephone: 0115 978 7813
Fax: 0115 979 2969
Email: [email protected]
Website: www.nottinghamlawcentre.org.uk

Also you could try phoning Rights of Women who have a national helpline:

National family law line
This line is for women in England and Wales who need family law advice. Call: 020 7251 6577
Opening hours: Tues – Thurs 7pm – 9pm / Friday 12pm-2pm
The line is closed on bank holidays

And try and see your MP who should have a surgery for local people.

If there has been involvement of the local council does this mean you have a social worker? Are they able to explain what has happened?

If not try and see your local councillor to ask them to explain why the council has behaved in this way.
Not saying you should do this, but if you feel strong enough you could go to a local newspaper and tell them what happened. But this could be a dangerous strategy.

Do you have any family or friends who can support you?
