I wonder who started this fight? The unnamed woman prisoner or the six foot plus Evie Amati in jail nearly killing three strangers in an axe attack rampage after being told ‘no’ by a woman on a tinder date. Hmmm.

I'm so sorry for the women prisoners involved in this, but so pleased to see our concerns playing out Exactly. As. We. Warned.

Ffs, it's not rocket surgery.

Lamahaha · 30/07/2019 08:48

Yet referred to throughout as "she". Arggghhhh!

JessicaWakefieldSV · 30/07/2019 09:02

This is so enraging. Australia is a seriously misogynistic place but this is just shocking. That male is a dangerous individual who tried to kill 3 people, wtf are they doing in a women’s prison? The women should sue.

AncientLights · 30/07/2019 09:11

So Amati is transitioning back to male, according to the article. Amati had surgery in Thailand - I had assumed this was genital but maybe it was facial. I'm wondering how the de-transitioned male Amati would feel if genital surgery has been carried out - I can't think it'd make for a sweeter temperament. Terrifying.

These pathetic excuses given to be kinder to trans criminals who commit acts of violence are really more of the same excuses for male violence we’ve always had, the legal profession, police and other organisations are just more enthusiastically supporting the excuses for trans people than men.

ZebrasAreBras · 30/07/2019 10:01

Women warned that this would happen.

Nobody listened.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 30/07/2019 12:02

Amati terrifies me from across the other side of the world. I can't begin to imagine what it would be like being locked up with Amati and unable to escape.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 30/07/2019 22:46

The only reason he didn't get sent down for murder is pure luck. He attacked three people, two of which have life altering injuries, apparently the second victim only survived due to having thick dreadlocks that took the edge off the blow.
I'd like to meet the person who ok'd putting him in a female prison. I really would.
Violent male offenders belong in a secure men's prison.

AnyFucker · 30/07/2019 22:54

Treated as a "special case"

No words

But how come Amati isn't transferred to a male prison now that Amati identifies as male?

Gender identity was so important when Amati was placed in a women's prison. But now suddenly it's irrelevant?

Male identifies as female = gets sent to female prison.

Male identifying as male = remains in female prison.

"Amati’s barrister, Peter Lange, told the court the sentencing judge had taken into account several unusual features, including the interplay of gender dysphoria, a depressive illness and drug-taking".

Seems like Amati's gender dysphoria is now cured. Now that Amati has been sentenced. To a women's prison.

When are we going to stop pretending that men with obvious severe mental disorders who claim to be women are actually women?

Mumminmum · 01/08/2019 07:29

FFS! Female prisoners have rights too. They got sentenced to be incarcerated not to get raped and/or assaulted.

HorsewithnoRegretsNonJeNeRegre · 01/08/2019 07:36

There should be third spaces for these types of people?

Karwomannghia · 01/08/2019 07:51

Why is it not completely obvious that these people have serious mental health issues? I do not understand how they can be indulged it’s not helpful for them. From men attacking women in prisons to demanding having their balls waxed, they are extremely unwell yet this aspect of their delusions is taken at face value. They need to be sectioned.
My dbro was extremely mentally ill and believed he was a sergeant in the army. No one went along with it beyond non committal agreement for the sake of spending time with him, because it wasn’t true and it wouldn’t have been helpful for him to pursue that false belief.
It always astounds me that there is this gap in realisation about their mental health. Same for teens who are struggling.
