Because we need a bit of good news

The piece in Culture reframed is quite short but there's a link to Changing attitudes where there is more info, though you need to translate.

Place marking 😉 for later

This is good news. This is what will be needed. Young women need to make clear to young men that they will only accept them as partners if they do not consume porn and see women as objects. Thanks for sharing

Good for them.

This is great!

Due to more equal pay and better access to child care the women in the Scandinavian countries are more equal to men and therefore they can make these kinds of demands. If we want the same rights in Britain we need to first and foremost end the pay gap and lobby for better and cheaper child care.

I disagree with pp. It is not just about equal pay and child care. From what DD tells me there are plenty of boys turning up at University who have little idea of how to interact with females. The prevalence of porn has them not understanding boundaries and behaviours. Recent use of SM problems at Exeter and Warwick are examples.

Young women are having to be clearer and more assertive in order to retain rights/treatment we took for granted.
