I know it's the DM but nice to see it getting some main stream publicity especially because they pick up on JY's very odd tweets about tampons and conversations trying to convince 14yo girls to send them dodgy photos.

Comments must be heavily moderated as there's been 1.2k shares but only 60 commentsHmm All except 2 are saying that women rights come 1st. 1 supports JY and the last, quite rightly, asks 'what is appropriate sexual conduct with a child?' Yet another sign of bad use of language. Cheering to see the ratio though Smile

Iamnotanugget · 27/07/2019 13:15

Just to make absolutely clear, what I and the commentator are saying is that it's never ok but the use of the word 'inappropriate' suggests that it can sometimes be appropriate. It's the subtle use of language that breaks down these barriers.

Everyday I read these boards thinking I can't read anything new and then I do. How the fuck did we get in this situation?

I was a bit annoyed that they mentioned a few time "Yaniv was refused manicures by Salons" (you'd think aw poor Yaniv) without making it clear the "Salons" were lone women working from their own home, who simply didn't want an obvious male person coming into their house while they were inside alone, for obvious reasons.

Some people reading might think "all these bigoted salons shouldn't have a problem servicing transwomen" thinking it's about those places you see with 3-4 women painting nails in from of big windows you can see into.

I wish they'd made that clearer.

Why has it come to this. The farmers keep the archive. The Mail prints the story.

Thanks both. But where is the left wing press.

heathspeedwell · 27/07/2019 14:58

Never thought I'd be thinking that the Mail was too soft in its reporting.

They also failed to mention that one of the victims JY chose had young children at her home.

Thanks both. But where is the left wing press.

The Guardian have printed a piece, - yes I know it's a shock!

Congrats Guardian! Okay, she's had to be careful, and she uses female pronouns for Yaniv, but she does say that Yaniv is in the wrong. Comments not allowed, I notice.

Interesting remark on Twitter under twitter.com/GuardianUS/status/1155101467726024704

A trans woman doesn’t have “male” genitalia. Don’t post this TERF-y bullshit.

Yes, the Guardian is now a 'terf'!

NeurotrashWarrior · 27/07/2019 16:14

Yes they have - BUT omg the slating of the 'right wing press' and dressing it up as primarily bad for trans people and how reporting has been so trans phobic....
