Do I delete the tweet?

I've been locked out of my account. For most of today clicking twitter has not loaded, it just stayed on the loading circle. It's back now.

I've been barred now for two days.

Do I delete the tweet?

Fucking hell it's a real boys club isn't it.

The exact thing happened to me, I mentioned Yaniv then I got a message saying "delete the Tweet or you'll be banned" but they made it impossible for me to delete the Tweet. Permanently banned henceforth.

Twitter is run by TRAs it's not worth the time or effort.

It is a boys’ club, for sure. I hear 500 GC accounts have been banned now. The platform has too much power.

It’s annoying OP - I’d probably delete though, have you decided?

HandsOffMyRights · 27/07/2019 08:01

I'm suspended but got a 12hr ban once for the tamest of Tweets. At the time I deleted it to get back on. Now I'd ride out the 12hrs.

I want my account back (but to appeal requires phone no so I need to sort a 'burner' phone) so I can delete all old Tweets and close the account myself. I don't want those picks who run Twitter to have access to my Tweets - though somebody will probably tell me that even if they're deleted they will remain somewhere in cyberspace.

'even if they're deleted they will remain somewhere in cyberspace'.
Yes, even deleted tweets are stored and anyone can get to them although I don't know how to do it myself.

Sophia, I would definitely have liked and RTd that.

My history of Tweets would probably be similar..but want to delete myself rather than Twitter decide what stands. I mean, our timelines are not full of 'Die in a greasefire' yet somehow McKinnon is a Twitter untouchable.

Sophia2222 · 27/07/2019 09:20

Exactly, I was posting a lot on the thread by Elsie saying it must be a vexatious litigation and/or slander and wondering if there could be a counteraction. I wondered if the crowdfunding might get enough money to do that, it's probably those tweets that got attention but they picked on the one about Shon instead. How could it be a violation of privacy?
The pictue and the tweet are genuine.

'I need to sort a 'burner' phone'

Tesco do a basic pay as you go phone for about £15 but that's with £10 credit on it.

Ooh cheers - that looks perfect.

There is no rhyme or reason as to what gets deleted. My 12 hour ban was around the TV programme on married men who self ID as women. I showed empathy for the wives and children and said some men are selfish. Cue the 12 hr ban...

Sophia2222 · 27/07/2019 10:28

I haven't even been banned, they just haven't processed my appeal. These guys have overtaken technology, goodness knows where it'll end. In tears I expect :)

I'm currently suspended. They asked for my phone number but there's no way they're getting it. This is what I got suspended for.

I can't be bothered trying to get back on as I'm happy using other platforms at the moment.

That's ridiculous. I'm not that tech-savvy and I'm a bit lost on here but as you say is it worth the bother. Perhaps in years to come they will be held to account.

They've relented and let Lindsay Shepherd back onto the platform after public pressure. Maybe they'll do the same for Meghan Murphy as they were both banned due to the efforts of a certain ball waxing proponent.

Sophia2222 · 27/07/2019 13:29

He's able to be racist and sexist without too much trouble simply because he is so weird, like Savile who it was impossible to have an intelligent conversation with. That serves the purpose of a lot of people who can't get away with it. Buffoonery takes people a long way at the moment, no one quite knows how to deal with it, it wasn't long since they would have just been dismissed.

It's good news about Lindsay though.

A group of us were constantly reporting men who were openly posting paedophilic content, but Twitter gave most of them a free pass. Absolute insanity.

Sophia2222 · 27/07/2019 20:59

I deleted it.
I suppose I could have held out but I just couldn't see that they would be able to backtrack, they know I would have made a big deal of it, it was a ridiculous thing to suggest it violated privacy. So, forgive me, I crumbled.
I don't expect I'll last long on there now I've been targeted but I'll make as big an impression as I can.

'A group of us were...'

Men eh.
