More Twitter crazy.

twitter.com/theflowperiod/status/1151236586886926337

"We are ALL princesses! And in every fairytale, a princess gets a period. Nothing goes better with a fairytale than a menstrual cup! We have five menstrual cups to give away to the first five menstruators who leave a comment about their favorite princess story".

Comments are hilarious.

Nobody is having it.

The flow world appear to be based in LA.
Nuff said.

GirlDownUnder · 25/07/2019 10:57

Hahahaha cringe! However I do like a nice ratio in the morning for a good start to the day Grin

I am gobsmacked. But yes the replies are hilarious!

Popchyk · 25/07/2019 11:06

I liked the comment from a transman.

"A spectacular fail. No one,not even trans men ,like to be called "menstruators".

Even if they did I'm sure campaign using "princesses" would not be the way to go to attract us to their product 😂
William"

I wonder if they cynically did this on purpose, knowing it would infuriate women and generate a lot of publicity.
It beggars belief that it could have been a genuine campaign. Unless their advertising agency is Yaniv, White and Challenor.

ContessaLovesTheSunshine · 25/07/2019 11:08

Amazing Grin is anyone at all in favour?!

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 25/07/2019 11:12

their advertising agency is Yaniv

If it was JY then the slogan would be about how it's a great time to go swimming and be free to walk around the changing room bonding.

Madvixen · 25/07/2019 11:14

The one about women on the front line made Hubby (serving in the military) rather irate around the practicalities 😂

JessicaWakefieldSV · 25/07/2019 11:41

The responses are everything.

DanaPhoenix · 25/07/2019 13:13

The responses are hilarious. They have managed to offend the entire purchasing base, however they may identify.

ShagMeRiggins · 25/07/2019 13:16

It’s not good capitalism, that’s for sure. If they’re trying to capture the trans market (and why would they need to?) it’s statistically insignificant to their sales.

LassOfFyvie · 25/07/2019 13:31

Unless their advertising agency is Yaniv, White and Challenor

If White is referring to Blair White I think it is disgusting and transphobic that you are linking one of the most vociferous critics of TRAs to Challenor and Yaniv even as a joke.

Nuffaluff · 25/07/2019 13:34

My favourite response:
There was once a princess who met a group of woke knights on her journey to the castle. “Knights, I am a woman. Take your menstruator label, & shove it where the sun don’t shine”, said the princess. She rode off into the sunset to fight other woke knights for all eternity. The end

Reply: 😂 did you get a free menstrual cup?

Yes. It came addressed To The Menstruator Of The House. My kid handed it to me and said "mumstruator, I think this is for you"

ShagMeRiggins · 25/07/2019 13:37

Okay, I see now it’s not a cup manufacturer but a charity (?) and campaign to end period poverty, and yeah it’s better for the environment. Still doesn’t excuse using menstruated rather than women.

LassOfFyvie I assumed Karen White.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 25/07/2019 13:37

White would be Karen White I expect Lass

stand down

FeministCat · 25/07/2019 13:38

I love using menstrual cups - they were a game changer for me. But I refuse to buy fro any company that uses this kind of marketing. I don’t care if it could potentially be my Goldilocks cup.

Even on the subreddit for menstrual cups I have seen members refer to “menstruators” or “bleeders” and when called out on it by another member they will claim “I am trying to be inclusive!”. No, it is not “inclusive” to exclude talking about women. How can they talk in details about vaginas and cervices and menstrual flow and then think, well, I better be inclusive of all those people who don’t have these things as well as those dysorphic about them by reducing women to their bodily functions as “menstruators” or “bleeders”.

JessicaWakefieldSV · 25/07/2019 13:41

I’ve used cups for years and love them too. I used to buy Lunette but they are just as bad with their crap sexist talk so they lost a customer Wink

FeministCat · 25/07/2019 13:50

If White is referring to Blair White I think it is disgusting and transphobic that you are linking one of the most vociferous critics of TRAs to Challenor and Yaniv even as a joke.

Except Blair claims Yaniv is not really “trans” because they have “not really transitioned” since they have not “medically transitioned”. Blair specifically states “I don’t believe this is a trans woman, I believe this is a predator posing as a trans woman”

That is the problem. Under self-ID, under Canadian law Yaniv has indeed transitioned. Yaniv is considered a trans woman under the law and under trans ideology.

Blair is doing exactly the same as many TRAs so when confronted with a Yaniv, or a Karen White, or a story of a trans woman assaulting a child in a bathroom: oh, well THAT person isn’t really trans. We can even call them “he” (Blair argues and does) because they aren’t really trans.

How are we, women and children, supposed to sort this out if even TRAs can’t seem to figure it out until after events have happened (see how many supported Yaniv until recently).

Babdoc · 25/07/2019 14:07

I’d never heard of Blair White, and was referring to Karen White the convicted rapist! Sheesh, calm yourself Lass! The heat must be getting to you.

LizzieSiddal · 25/07/2019 14:56

I know this is irrelevant in the scheme of things, but I’ve never read a fairy tale where the “princess” has a period! Have I been reading the wrong ones?

FormerMediocreMale · 25/07/2019 15:19

Best not to use woke mysoginists to create ads for women.

MrsTerryPratchett · 25/07/2019 15:20

Thing is Lizzie they are all so thin that their periods have probably stopped.

LassOfFyvie · 25/07/2019 18:14

Sorry btw, I had clearly wiped Karen White from my brain.

Gingerkittykat · 25/07/2019 18:27

Then a tampon string incident on the beach with…my brothers-in-law

From their main website, this is why the founder was moved to set up her enterprise. Maybe a friend of JY's!

www.theflow.world/about/

Maybe this can inspire some kind of feminist fairy tale featuring a hero starting her first period.

StopThePlanet · 25/07/2019 20:09

Perfect! This princess story is basically the image that came to mind when reading the ad. Barf
